IO really want to try making some ice cream cone cupcakes this week.
I have heard that the cones might come out dry. Is there away to avoid this or doesn't it matter much. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I've made a lot of these and IMHO as long as you make them no more than the day before you eat them I think they're fine. I have a pic in my gallery.
I made some for the first time last night, they will be eaten today - the cones stay normal right out of the oven.
BTW - I placed mine in a mini cupcake pan to bake them and they fit nicely.
It is hard to judge how much to pour into the cone, I left about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch from the top of the cone.
I placed them in the clear plastic solo cups and poured sweethearts around the base of the cone to hold them up then frosted them while in the cups and placed a heart on top.

I was worried my cones would burn, so I wrapped the bottoms in foil. They were great right out of the oven, but they begin to get soggy after a while. I forget how long it took, but I think by the next day they are quite soft.
I want to make red velvet cupcakes in the cone with cream cheese frosting.... is it going to be bad for the cone if I put them in the refrigerator overnight?
I wouldn't put the cone in the fridge overnight, I really think it would make it go stale.
BUT, how about you set up all the cones in their packaging and place saran wrap over them and ice them in the morning before you get ready to leave?
You can have the cc icing already in a piping bag ready to go.

Thank you! I thought that was probably the way I was going to have to do it. I just wanted to make sure. My cones are in the oven right now.... I hope I didn't overfill them!
