The first person in my Wilton class to try MMF says she totally mixes it in the bowl with a spoon. As opposed to dumping in on the counter and kneading in the powered sugar. I've always done the "Dump" and did alot of work. I LOVE MMF. Has anyone used this bowl mixing idea? can this work?

Thanx , Devin

I just made my first mmf. I started out using my KA (bad idea). I switched to a big plastic bowl and it worked just fine. I really didn't want all that mess on my counter.

I mix it like bread basically. I add in the powdered sugar and mix until most of it is incorporated, and then I move to a large plastic board covered in shortening.

I pretty much stay in the bowl too. I found that I can incorporate most of the powdered sugar with a spoon and then with my hands coated with crisco. I turn it out to the counter top at the end to knead it some. It is less sticky and messy that way.

I use my KA and when it comes together like a dough, I take it out and knead it myself!

I do the same as you, jdogga. I use my KA and mix it with my dough hook until I have most of the sugar in, color it if I am going to need it colored, then knead the rest of the sugar in. thumbs_up.gif

I'm with jdogga and beccal. I made mine in my KA with the dough hook and then kneaded the rest by hand.
