Ok, i havent read all the threads!!
BUT
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! whoo hoo, It is awesome and you have all these cakes to mix and match to your hearts content, till you discover the one that makes your heart sing!

I've been married six years ... just a drop in the bucket compared to some worthy CCers. Still, I agree whole-heartedly with the words of the others ... marry your best friend. You'll never be bored. icon_razz.gif

My wedding cake -- several years before I got into decorating -- was simple basketweave with buttercream lavender roses and daisies on top. (That's what I and my bridesmaids carried, respectively.) Very nice, but the inside was what we were really looking forward to: Alternating tiers with white cake with raspberry truffle filling and chocolate cake with Bailey's mocha filling. Ummmm ...

Of course, we were so busy neither of us ever got to have a piece. icon_sad.gif And then we had a lengthy power outage that ruined our anniversary tier. Sigh.

Can't wait to see what some of the artists on this site would do for your cake!

Congratulations! I always ask about the cake first, too! Forget the dress! lol

I was married in 2004 & I'm a very simple, plain kind of gal & so was my wedding cake. It was simple, but elegant (tiered w/ waterfall underneath it & a few mini cakes to sit around the table). I had never heard of mmf at the time but I knew I didn't like the taste of plain 'ol fondant so it was all buttercream. Each tier & mini cake was a different cake flavor.

Oh, and just a tip: Do everything to YOUR liking & not what you think your guests will like.

Congratulations!

My cake was so plain and simple... made by a friend who worked in the same bakery I was working in at the time (late 1980s). Nope. the cake didn't come from the bakery. *lol* I got married in a park- small and simple under the trees, so anything elaborate wasn't needed.

Maybe we could have like 15 wedding cakes!

Basically you can!.. I did a wedding 2 years ago where the bride had a cake in everytable. Each cake on every table was raffled to one person on that table, and then the wedding table had the cake for the wedding.
Each cake had a different look. They had the same colors, but every cake had theme. For example. The bride and groom loved the program survivor, so they did one cake with tv programs. Another theme was church, another was gym..and so on. But you can have all the cakes you love one of each in every table!
