If it is anything like the last contest that I entered, the results were not announced for a few days AFTER the deadline. Good luck

niknipscakes - We are behind you in reference to the time zone difference. It is Saturday, Jan. 31st here in the states, between 6am and 10am depending where you live. We still have a whole day to vote yet. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! icon_smile.gif

Im sorry to say, but it could be a week, or more, before we know. The Halloween contest was more then two week before we found out the winner. But, I think it was only several day before we found out the cupcake winner.

I was happy to see that two of the cakes that I gave 5 star ratings were selected! I had previously selected them as favorites, too. I must have good taste! icon_smile.gif Seriously, I am so new it is ridiculous! There were some very lovely cakes. The problem for me is that I kept seeing the same cake over and over. I think with a few exceptions every other cake was a castle, a barbie dress, or a Disney princess cake. And not that those cakes aren't great. It's just that none of them were particularly spectacular. They were very nice and far better than what I could do. But only a few really stood out. Which is probably why not one in those three categories won.

I looked at probably 75% of the entries. I was amazed at some of the talent. It makes me curious about the ratio of professional decorators and home decorators to hobby decorators. I am not interested in creating a business out of my basement or opening a store. I just want to make cakes and cupcakes that make my co-workers and family say "oooo" and "ahhhh". I am not sure I will ever be as good as some of the entries, but I loved looking at all of them.
