It's just too bad we don't get paid for all this drama - I think we're definitely A-Listers for sure!

I am confused..I thought this was a discussion about illegal home bakeries?

I dont know if I could get involved in a religious discussion as I am a religious mutt. I was raised for a while by my mom who was an orthadox jew and sent me to private school, then I was raised by my dad and step mom who were baptist, and my first husband was a strong athiest who beleived in the big bang theory and my current DH is a irish cathelic raised in a strick cathelic home. My oldest daughter converted to mormon while she was in college and is raising her children that way, but still holds on to her jewish roots. Me? I just beleive we have a higher power who loves cake...and that religious discussions do not belong at the dinner table, the office, or on Cake Forums...

I think we're all trying to get it back to the original topic but people keep posting messages that bring it back up...

I would love to know the laws in South Carolina... I currently use a friends Deli to do my cake if they are for anyone other than family.

I don't understand anyone who feels they have to flaunt themselves.

I would never say, "I can afford the luxuries of life, because I am an awesome cake decorator".

I would not say, "I never do anything illegal or hurtful to others, because I am a Christian".

I would not say, "I am a perfect mom, look at how my children turned out".

I would not say, "no one should ever disagree with me, because I am so good and charming".

If you have great qualities, for whatever reason...let them shine and you won't have to get on a soap box and declare why you are special. If people really want to know what your secret is...you can privately tell them.

No one is perfect so when someone comes on here saying they are, they are leaving themselves wide open for controversy.
Now, because this is CC, if you have great secrets on how to decorate cakes...blast away!

In South Carolina you can't use your home kitchen to bake for the public. If you are using your friend's deli you still need to have someone come and inspect it and get a license and carry insurance. icon_smile.gif

I have all the nessesary stuff but I did not know he needed to be inspected due to me(I will have to look into that). I have a building that is under construction and hope to be up and running in a few months... we are opening a specialty shop... All things party, things you cant get at party city and such... then on the other side of the building is the bakery... It has a pretty neat layout.

Do you mean it's illegal in some states? Because I know in others it is perfectly legal to sell baked goods out of your home- as long as you're liscensed.
