Need to make cookies-recipe calls for a pound of regular sugar--how many cups is that?? Also, a pound of AP Flour. I know humidity will make a difference, but ABOUT how many cups. TIA

Four cups = 1 lb sugar. For powdered sugar it can be 4 cups or sometimes 3 1/2 depending on how many times it was sifted. To be sure weigh it.

2.25 cups = one pound of sugar
3.75 cups = one pound of flour

Pretty sure.

This is from some notes.

I just googled it to get this.

I should go weigh this to be sure huh.

I got to a pound at 3 cups of flour but it was not aerated at all. So if you are sifting, probably 3.5 or so would be a pound.

Then I weighed granulated sugar and got over a pound with 2.25 cups sugar.

For these kinds of questions, you can also go to www.ask.com and type in "how many cups in a pound of sugar" and you will get all kinds of listings with measurement info. I use this all the time and it's great!
