My daughter's girls group will be having a bake sale fundraiser soon. We were thinking of getting the girls involved in making something to sell. Has anyone done this before? Any ideas? Warnings?!

The group is a bit large, so it would need to be something fairly easy and not too time consuming, as well as something we could actually sell. There are 24 girls in the group ranging in ages from a late 4 to 9 years old.

We're either going to do this for Valentine's Day or Easter.

Some of the thoughts I had, but not sure if they will work are:
-chocolates (molded) if we use the bottles
-chocolate covered pretzles, again using the bottles and different colors of chocolate & sprinkles
-chocolate covered oreos
-something with a marshmallow?
I'm at a loss!

I've noticed that the more 'interesting' items seem to sell better at bake sales, especially since there are usually mostly just cookies and cupcakes at the bake sales. People seem to like things they've never seen before.

Oh, can plastic gloves be purchased in kid sizes? If so, where?

Choco chip cookies - sell 3 to a bag.
Stick those MM on a sucker stick & dip in choco then in nuts or jimmies.
Pretzel rods are easy to dip *about 2/3) then sprinkle colored sugar, jimmies, nuts etc. Again I'd sell the 3 for.

Rice Crispie treats made into a nest w/tiny jelly beans in them.
Can you find any no cook recipes for cookies?

Chocolate dipped marshmallows are easy to make and fun to eat. Dip or drizzle, then add sprinkles etc.

cookies on a stick are nice . . . two cookies (I like choc. chip) sandwiched together either with icing or with marshmallows like a s'more. The long lollipop sticks from Michaels are very useful for this project. Clear cellophane bags with gift wrap ribbon finish it nicely. Homemade cookies look and taste the best for this project.

And OOOooh, don't forget tuxedo chocolate dipped strawberries are always a big hit too! HTH

My daughter had a bake sale at school just recently. It was just for the kids in her school. (No adults/Parents) I sent dipped oreo ladybugs like the ones in my pics. I also sent chocolate chip brownies. Needless to say the kids weren't impressed with the ladybugs, but went nuts over the brownies. So IMO I would send something simple as well. I was really excited because I thought they would go crazy over the ladybugs. Nope. They wanted the brownies. Oh well. Not much I can do about it now, but I will remember next time not to put so much effort in to it. Most of the kids had their items eaten before they even reached the parking lot. You live and learn.

Oreo Cookie truffles are easy, fun to make, and look much more expensive than they are.

1 pkg oreos, crushed to a powder
1 phg 8oz cream cheese
melted chocolate
drizzle chocolate.

The best part is they don't have to be regular chocolate. You can use any of the candy chocolates in various colors and flavors. And you can also use different oreos as well. the mint oreos are great with a dark chocolate covering and a green drizzle, or the peanut butter Oreos with a milk chocolate covering and a peanut butter drizzle.

Mmmm, got to stop, I am making myself hungry.
