Dang. I changed my screen name and now I'm having trouble access my posts or photos. I'm waiting for it to be fixed, but until then, here's what I did this morning....

It's a dummy for display at a wedding event coming up. Along with the very modern ones fondant cakes planning, I decided to throw in an all-white, all-BC piped cake that I designed.

I always work with IMBC, but this was done with straight crisco and powdered sugar, and I really HATE working with it. I have a whole new appreciation for people who work with standard BC, because I felt like it was so...grainy. BLEH I'm more or less pleased with how it turned out, all in all.

The whole cake, from mixing the icing to taking the photo, took 3 hours, 5 minutes. Yes, I timed it. icon_smile.gif

I think you'll get good responses from it at the show. While lots of brides are going for the less-is-more look with little piping, still lots of people still like all the frufru and buttercream decorations. I would be very pleased to have this cake at my reception. It would have taken me longer than 3 hrs to do this though.

Thanks!

I did manage to get it to upload in my Photos, but I can't VIEW my photos, for some reason. How frustrating.

It's growing on me; the more I look at it, the more I like it. I may still fix a blip in one border that's bugging me, though... icon_smile.gif
