I have some fondant that I'm playing with on a dummy.
I read somewhere to wet the dummy. In doing this I think I damaged the fondant?!
Now when I kneed it, it rips.
Did I ruin it?
I live in a very dry climate so I've never used powder sugar when rolling it only crisco.... any help would be appreciated.
Happy Baking!
Thank you all!
In this case, I'd add some powder sugar or a little corn starch just to take the "sticky" out. Try spraying your cake dummy with Pam instead of water.
Good Luck!

It isn't sticky at all, it is more like a brake down and riping in spots as I kneed it?! (I hope that is explained correctly)?
Well, try adding some powdered sugar or cornstarch to it to see if you can restore it. If not, chunk it and start over.
You only need to give a very light misting of water to your cake dummy. I actually use piping gel thinned with a little bit of water and just brush piping gel on the sides of the dummy. Gravity will hold it down on the top.
