I don't know how their syrups are, but I did not like their flavorings. If they are similar toTorani, then you'll have to reduce the sugar and add an extra egg white.

Quote:I would never ship a cake! Unless it was a pound or mud cake with no filling, and one layer. Ground ship, but I don't know if UPS or FedEx is best.

Have you heard of Bettercreme? It's the same, but better. A non-dairy whipped icing that comes frozen in a liquid state. Once whipped, it shelf stable for a few days. I buy mine at Smart&Final.

I've seen "Fragile" boxes come back with holes in the sides, "This Side Up" packages turned on all sides, and worse. It's the same for all carriers; there is no "this will always be 'right side up'" or "we wont toss this" guarantee. You could definitely ship something small that can be tossed around, but I wouldn't ever advise shipping one of your pretty cakes out!

post #6178 of 62443/17/13 at 10:07amI did ship a cake last month via FedEx overnight, picked up at 5pm and delivered by 10am. I used a fairly firm ganache instead of buttercream under the fondant and the decorations were all low profile. I wrapped the decorations with plastic wrap to provide support before wrapping the rest of the cake in plastic wrap and then covering in foil with more saran wrap. I froze the cake and then used styrofoam peanuts inside the cake box to support the cake from slipping around and then between the cake box and the shipping box. My mother said it arrived looking almost perfect. She could see where it had slipped on the board and was sitting on the beads at the base on side.
post #6179 of 62443/20/13 at 2:11pmpost #6180 of 62443/22/13 at 12:00pmThere are so many flavors you can offer but I would find out what is her favorite flavors ...is there a Theme to the wedding What flowers she is planning to use? I just believe once you get her talking she give you more of an insite to what she wants.Throwing so many choices at a bride is opening a can a worms for you.. Does she want a tasting? I think sitting down with her and getting to know her likes and dislikes, would be a good start.
