Ok I have some questions... Can I have the final modified version of orange dremsicle cake?

N which filling to be used for this?.

Macsmom can u share ur mmf recipe.

If I cover it with fondant. Is there Amy other way to crumb coat other than buttercream.. I don't like butter creams

For orange extract,.. Is there Amy alcohol free extract which I can use?

Do I need to use same amount iof cake flour as all purpose flour

If I don't find better cream for cheesecake filling can I use heavy whipping. Cream as a substitute

Tried the Chocolate Turtle cake and the Black Forest Cakes this past weekend for a wedding...DELISH!  For the Chocolate Turtle I used a Dark Chocolate Fudge cake filled with Chocolate Ganache (straight up - not whipped) layered with toasted pecans and drizzled with caramel (made using Sweetened Condensed Milk that I turned into caramel using my crockpot - cooked on low for 8 hours in the can - perfection!). The Black Forest I used a Dark Chocolate Fudge cake that I mixed in Cherry Pie filling (reduced the amount of water just a tad) Layered with Chocolate Ganache and more Cherry Pie filling! Again, huge hit!!

 

I love when people pick fun new flavors...I'm glad they turned out well b/c it was for a wedding! :)

Wow, I was wanting the same thing.......thanks everyone!  I suddenly want to get in the kitchen and bake up a storm. yum. :)

Just a heads up on the Strawberry cake. The other day I 1/2 the recipe and accidently added the full amount of baking soda (only 1/2 tsp for 1/2 box mix) and it was a huge mistake. It came out crazy salty. A quick google search told me that baking soda and acid result in salt. Strawberries are highly acidic. So just an FYI out there, be careful with adding too much baking soda when playing around with the density of a cake. 1/2 tsp was just perfect for a single box mix recipe of strawberry cake.

if i find only white cake will it work?

and sorry i cant use alcohol flavoured drink.. can i use something else? like diet sunkist?

 

ok ill try to use italian butter cream... but its a lil sifficult to malke..

will white choclate ganache will work with this cake?

 

ok yes cream cheese will b gud.. in this thread there was a recipe mentioned i think it was cake boss cream cheese n he said it can b used under fondant .. have u ever tried it?

 

ok so i bought dream whip to use with evaporated  milk for filling coz i dont have bettecream...

. Though I found dh orange supreme
.. So as I ve read there is a problem f cake sinking in middle coz of dh...
So I didn't bought it..
What do u suggest... If I buy it then can I use half orange dh n half white bc?.

I will doing 1/4. Recipe.. Is it going to fill 2 6 in pans?

DH orange cake mix is fine, won't sink.

For those that have made some of the different cake flavors/combos that have been posted. There are several flavors/combos that I've seen listed in this post that I'd really like to try but didn't see recipes for in the google doc.. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

They are: Moji-Lada, Banana Caramel Cheesecake, Key Lime, and Tonka Bean. There is also several different Italian Cream Cake/Italian Cream Dream/Italian Wedding Cake listed as well. I have seen a recipe for the Italian Cream Cake but I cannot find DH Coconut Supreme cake mix. Any suggestions for substitutions that will not alter the flavor of the cake?
