Updates on my cakes:
Chocolate Chip Cookie cake with Cookie Dough filling, covered in swiss meringue buttercream ... it turned out so yummy! I couldn't stop eating it :S
Today, I'm baking the Orange Dreamsicle cake and I just sampled one cupcake I baked (the rest cake) and it is soo delicious! I was really nervous about my cake sinking because I accidentally put more soda than I was supposed to so I tried to scoop some out haha I guess it worked, it's holding up well so far. I plan to fill it with the White Chocolate Truffle, but not sure what to cover it with yet.
Macsmom, I made your banana recipe as cupcakes and filled them with chocolate truffle and they are to die for!!

Macsmom I'm making your red velvet cake again today (love it an I don't really care for rv cake) and for the past 4 days no supermarket had any vanilla pudding. I do have a little bit left in the box from a cake I did last week...it's about 2 T. You told me in a previous post (I told you about the choclate taste I experienced with the rv) that you add 4T of vanilla and 2T of chocolate pudding. Is this amount for the full recipe or half (I always do half)? I do have a box of white chocolate pudding and was wondering if I could use 2T of each (van., white chocolate and chocolate pudding) or should I just eliminate the vanilla and do 4T of wc pudding? I'm concerned about the flavor being way off from how I know your recipe is supposed to taste.
Does anyone used Macsmoms rv recipe and substitute white chocolate pudding for the vanilla; I would love to know what you all thought about the taste. Has anyone tried Macsmoms recipe as is then made it again with the wc pudding; any comparison?

The pudding is mainly for moistness, but vanilla has such a strong flavor so I combined it with chocolate pudding to make sure it has a more matched taste - but I have never compared the RV any other way. I'm sure you could use all white chocolate pudding with similar rsults, or even better, use the cheesecake pudding mix.

2 boxes white cake mix
2 c melted orange sherbet
2/3 c OJ or diet orange soda (soda suggested by cinderspritzer: "I added ... diet sunkist soda.... and it tastes FREAKING AWESOME!!!")
2 c flour
1-3/4 c sugar
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda (modified to add baking soda 3/10/10)
2 c sour cream
9 egg whites
1/4 c oil
1 T orange extract
*Perhaps some food coloring

I'm assuming 325-350 will cover the temp, and maybe 20-30 minutes for cooking time for the majority of the recipes? I've been assuming these 2 factors, but haven't actually made any of these recipes as of yet. I'm getting ready to try my first one (orange dreamsicle, or course!!) and just wanted to make sure about these instructions.

The orange can be baked at 350 because it doesn't usually rise too high, and yes, 50 mins to an hour depending on the size of pan and depth of batter - sometimes longer when at 325.
What frosting goes well with orange dreamsicle? How about a filling to go with that?
I always use MacsMom's white chocolate truffle (also found on the google doc). I frost with IndyDebi's buttercream (found in the recipes).

I just have to say - 1/2 white chocolate truffle + 1/2 BC = THE BEST CRUSTING CREAM CHEESE ICING EVER!!
I used it in carrot cake and red velvet, and it was unbelievable!!

OMG!! I'm only on page 42 of 376! I am amazed. It would be easier if there was a cookbook. I'm stuck on the Graham Craker cake. No sugar is added, nor any almond extract, correct? Also, when you state specific ingredients along with saying the Wasc recipe remains the same, does it mean always use the almond extract? Thanks so much for all the great ideas!
The brown sugar in the graham cracker cake replaces the white sugar.
The only recipe I use the almond for is the original white version or if it specifically states it in the recipe. Otherwise, I use a combo of vanilla and butter flavoring.

Oh geez! Lol. I feel like a dork. I'm on page 51. Pretty new to cakes. Been writing this all down by hand since I'm limited to Internet use to my iPhone (PC down). So I couldn't wait to see how this ended. I finally jumped to the last page and saw your very helpful hint! THANK YOU! I will continue to read on though. It's my new bible, and very helpful hints along the way.
