I gained 40 lbs since starting doing cakes. If sugar was an illegal drug, I'd be locked up for life.

WOW.. I've always heard people on here say that they gained a lb here & there from eating cake scraps, icing, ect. But I didn't know ppl could gain 30 lbs just from making cakes.. icon_surprised.gif

Since I've started making cakes which was right after my daughter was born I wore a size 11, now 20 months later I wear a size 5.. The size I wore all throughout my h.s. years.. Ok, yes I am only 20 and h.s. wasn't THAT long ago but still.. I'm losing weight.. Im never tempted to even taste my cakes, cupcakes, icings, ect.. I think I just make them so much that I'm numb to the though of eating them. LOL and I KNOW they're good but not good enough to start gaining weight from them.

I've just started cake decorating as a somewhat serious possible career path by taking classes and I'm addicted to the darn buttercream!!!! I had a fairly easy time of staying within 140 lbs when I was working (I did fire restoration and cleanup and was lifting and moving ALOT) but since my layoff the lbs have just piled on. icon_surprised.gif Perhaps I should pick a healthier hobby........

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already.

You guys are cracking me up! icon_biggrin.gif I blame the kids for the initial gain (3 kids in less than 4 yrs), but I definitely blame the cake for not being able to lose it after the fact! I love the scientific terminology!

You know, I was addicted to my buttercream at first... couldn't keep my chubby little fingers out of it, and you know what cured me? This is ridiculous... discovering Bettercreme! Really. I like it so much with all the fun things you can do with it that the regular BC just doesn't taste the same to me anymore. Too sweet maybe? I don't know. I can get into it sometimes, but it's a LOT easier to say no now. (Unless it's on a sugar cookie... then I'm still a quivering pile of jello!)

Nothing like a cup of bettercream with strawberries..or oreos, maybe peanut butter.. icon_surprised.gificon_eek.gif Ok that doesnt sound very dietetic..but is yummy!

LOL! It's called "will power".....

Before I had my daughter I had never weighed over 115 lbs.. While I was pregnant I gained about 60 lbs.... tapedshut.gif

When I first started making cakes I didn't think of the possibility of gaining weight from eating cake scraps, icing, blah blah..
But for some reason I was just never in the mood to eat cake.. It's like I've been around it ALL day why would I THEN want to eat it.. LMAO icon_razz.gif
Anywho.. I just started piling the cake scraps on a plate and if my daughter ate all of her dinner that night I would give her a piece of it. icon_wink.gif


I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hated being out of shape & overweight after I had my daughter bc before I had her I worked out every single day. So my goal is to get back down to 115 and I wont do that by eating scraps. thumbs_up.gif

ALMOST there though.. Only about 10 more lbs..
