I just came back here to thank all of you who helped and advised me on using fondant for the first time.

All went well, and I had a great time making this cake! Of course being my worst critic I can see a thousand flaws in this cake. Some mistakes were made, of course, and I learned sooo much!

The weather got a lot humid and the fondant started to get a little sticky. Mother nature at her best! What can we do? At the end I managed to get the results I wanted (almost).

I used DH white cake and flavored with vanilla. BC I bought (got tired of making and I needed a big batch) and flavored with cherry. I made a small batch of chocolate BC and tinted with super black for the design. For fondant I bought Satin Ice white, and got hooked for life! Superb flavor and easy to work with. The toper I made and gluedsome rinestones for sparkling effect.

Everybody liked so much, and I have some prospects for more orders!

Sorry this got so long, I'm so excited and just wanted to thank you all again, and wanted to share with you. Love you guys!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

For a first-time fondant cake, it is absolutely beautiful! Way to go! I've never tried fondant myself. I hope I can do half as good as this.
