Like all of you during this busy holiday, every day I bake bake bake. Every night, my husband asks, "Which ones are MY cookies?", as he knows he can't touch anything that intended to give to someone. As a joke, I made these cookies and put them in with all the other cookies. When he went to the cookies to ask his daily question, he found these in the mix of cookies icon_biggrin.gif Bless their hearts. All our husbands have been so patient with us this month.

What a lucky husband you have!!!! He has a wife who can bake tasty things, who has a sense of humor, and who cares about his happiness. What more can a guy ask for?!

My husband gets to eat the "annual uglies", which are the cookies that don't quite meet gift giving status.
Beautiful job on Jack's cookies.

hehehehe, and I thought I was the only one who had a DH asking this? He was so happy I was doing a cookie tray for a client last night, because he had tons of leftover cookies to eat. He asked later "do you want dessert", I said nah do you, he said I had a cookie or 2 or 5... hehehehehehehehe!

Your post gave me a good laugh. I love the cookies by the way. Hmmm i hear those same words nightly too...I also hear, "any duds?" what's with these men?lol ;0)
I've baked a tonne this year and I still have some cookies left. My husband will be thrilled tonight when i say..."the rest are yours". I've done up my tins, cookie platters and they are full as can be. In fact next year i think i will bake less. Some days he's more patient then others, some days he complains like a baby when i don't give him a cookie. I can't believe he still likes them as much as he does. For me, i can't even bring myself to have one..i'm so tired of looking at them, smelling them...great diet! I wish that worked with other food as well.

Thanks for sharing those adorable cookies. I may just have to do something similar next year too for DH.

icon_lol.gif Sounds like my house! When I cut the dome off of cakes, we call them "trim jobs" and that's pretty much the only cake they get anymore. So when it's the grandkids birthday and there's a "real" cake, my 16 year old will hold up her plate and say "Look, mom! A WHOLE piece of cake! With icing and everything!"

She's SO deprived! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Not only was this really sweet during a busy holiday season, these are REALLY cute to boot! I will have to remember this for my husband! He always claims that he doesn't have a sweet tooth, but is always trying to nibble on the dough! Again, great job!

I figured all you ladies hear the same question icon_smile.gif He was pleasantly surprised to see them. He usually gets the broken or ugly ones. He encourages my hobby, as he is a cookie freak! He eats cookies every night before bed. He'll be getting personalized Valentine cookies as well. Loved reading all your comments about how the cookie crumbles at your houses. Sounds like all our households have the same cookie conversations.

Oh, those are so clever! I also have to hide my ingrediants so that my DH and DD's won't eat the chocolate, nuts, sprinkles, etc. Problem is once they find them and I have to rehide my stash, I sometimes forget where everything is icon_confused.gif

Nice work, riSHEL!
I especially like the Santa 'A'.

My hubby (and the kids) did the same thing. I now have a 'special rack' just for the family. As I remove cookies from the sheets, the irregulars go there as fair game for anyone who wants some.
By the way, I haven't talked to you yet - Image

riSHEL, you are a queen among women!! And those are so adorable, you didn't even go the route of a broken cookie with a slap-bang smear of icing to glue it together!

I grew up with a mother who loved to bake, but everything she baked she took to her office and gave to the (undeserving) people there. I had to spend hours smelling apple pies, cinnamon rolls, cakes, breads, you name it, and never got ONE bite. (In retrospect I should have called the child abuse hotline!!! icon_lol.gif) SO, the rule in my house is... whenever I am baking for a client or just something that will somehow be leaving the house without my guys getting a bite, I make just a little extra for them. If I'm making a cake... I make two little cupcakes on the side. Same for cookies, etc. They get to enjoy a treat, and I know I'm not heading them toward needing therapy because they think I don't love them!! Hehehe! icon_rolleyes.gif

icon_lol.gif You sound like my youngest! A few years ago, I told her how she'd be able to tell her kids how she had cakes and cookies in her house all the time, while growing up. In a sad, pathetic little voice she said, "Yeah .... but I'm not allowed to EAT any of 'em!" icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

nah ... she works in the shop, now, after school and hates it. Doesn't hate the work as much as she hates the idea of working for her MOM!!! Somehow that makes it not a "real" job! icon_confused.gif But since she's around them every. single. day. now, she's pretty much lost her desire for cookies. She likes getting that paycheck, though! icon_biggrin.gif

oh, and wanted to add that my 18 month old grandson is the total opposite. He comes to the shop and knows that any cookies on the bottom rack are up for grabs and he knows where gramma keeps the M&M's that go in the cookies!

Hahahahaha, my oldest son was a 'late talker' verbally. He only used about 4 or 5 words (plus sign language) before he turned 3, but you can bet 'cupcake' was one of them!

Whenever I made goodies to share with my co-workers, I always brought in the best examples, leaving the less-than-perfect treats for my family to polish off. Then it occurred to me that my husband and kids were far more important to me, and now they get the cream of the crop!
