Okay, WHERE was this kid's PARENT/S? That poor lady! The child would DEFINITELY not been laughing when I finished with him and his PARENT/S? UHHHH, "Oh? here you are. He hightailed it on his bicycle. It all happened so fast. She was at the next booth talking to the other crafter. We were walking back to the car. You just heard a crash and turned around in time to see him pedaling away. We live in a pretty good city, so the young teens are always running around on their bikes w/o supervision.

CakeMakar-I have seen things like this more and more lately. More often with kids being violent to other kids, more so than I remember at that age. Just the other day, my 3 year old daughter got bullied and trash talked by some SIX year old girls! I stepped in, and the girls were very snotty to me and just said "Let's go" to each other, with no respect that an adult was speaking to them, or for any type of authority. I don't know if parents don't hold their kids accountable for their actions, or what, but it's scary.
If my son was to crash into a woman's craft cart like that, he would be working off the money for me in chores for months. (Because I would have paid the woman for her items.) Sheesh!

I'm so serious, had these kids grown up with my parents, their teeth would've been knocked out. I've seen kids in this city actually push aside the elderly just be two steps ahead of them. It makes me want to grab them by their collars and shake some sense into them. Then I want to find thier parents and beat them for not teaching their kids respect!

I tell you what, if I ever catch my children being disrespectful to an adult, I'll call the cops myself cause I'm going to be whupping somebody's butt.

I think children learn what they see. A photographer friend was telling me he was trying to shoot a wedding and more than one relative came up and actually used their body to push the photographer out of the way, saying, "Move please, I need to get this shot!" Uh, excuse me, but the bride and groom are PAYING for the photographer's pics, not for Aunt Sally's pics!

I guess we should be happy that they said "please" as they physically shoved him out of their way. icon_confused.gif But I think about the kids who live with people like this and they are growing up thinking this kind of action is ok.

They only mimic what they see and they only do/say what you let them get away with.

I went off on my sister once because she let my niece slap my mom! I took my sister into another room and tore her a new one!

Yeah, Tita and indydebi, I tell you I see this stuff all the time! I have to little kids (5 and 3) and we are always out doing stuff with other kids at parks, etc. I cannot believe what these kids get away with. hitting, kicking, just being mean. Actually, the other day a 13 year old boy was at the toddler park at the mall and jumped from a platform and landed on top of my daughter. His mom was like "Whatcha gonna do about it" and he ran away, with her crying on the floor. No apology, nothing. Not to mention he was 10 years over the age limit to be in the park in the first place. Seriously, I don't get why parents are so lazy and don't want to get their hands dirty anymore!
i think we hijacked the thread-Sorry!

See when it comes to my babies I'll go off on anyone. I told this 13 year old off once because he was cutting the line at the KIDDIE POOL and pushed my daughter (who's 3 but was only 2 at the time) out of the way so he could go down the slide.
I told him he needed to go to the back of the line AND apologize to my daughter for pushing her and looked at me like, "Make me". His mother strutted over and was like, "Is there a problem?"
I told her yeah, the fact that she shouldn't have pro-created if she wasn't going to teach her child manners or respect for adults. She got all indignant and told me how dare I. I told her to look at my daughter and to look at her son and told her how dare she let her teenager run around a kiddie pool. I told her she ought to be ashamed and she cursed at me. Well, in the military that's when ranks of DH or DW's usually get thrown around so she's all- "do you know who my DH is?" I told her I could care less if he was the general of the Army and she like, "SGT So and SO" I told her to get a grip and control her child or put a leash on him AND her mouth, oh and by the way- my DH outranks yours by a mile!

icon_mad.gif Ok, here you go... first off, I can't believe those idiots!! I get so sick and tired of how others treat paying customers like us!! Your not aloud to yell at them, your not allowed to swear at them, your not allowed to raise the flying finger of fate at them, your not allowed to ask a question to them. Your just suppose to stand there and let them destroy your package and then, THEN, they even have a aggression day with those stamps they use to pound on your package if its a first class, third class or what ever the class, the postage amount stamp, etcc.

I had 2 incidents in 2 weeks with the post office. And I too I would have been calling hubby from jail to don't bother holding dinner for me....
The first one: I had a package to mail, needed some extra stamps on it, asked the knucklehead for more stamps and this idiot goes and puts the most expensive stamp on it and charges me for it.. I said "WHAT DID YOU JUST PUT ON THERE?!", This idiot said to me, "well, if you want it mailed, you have to pay the price".. ARE you Kidding me, I asked... this idiot just kept right on processing my package. I told the idiot to take off those expensive stamps, the idiot refused, so I grabbed back my package and tore them off myself, asked for the Supervisor who "attempted" to side with the idiot, THEN, THEN, they told me that since I "damaged" the package, I would have to repackage it myself and pay for the postage. GLADLY!! I told them, stepped out of line, (the lobby was full), repackaged it right there( it was one of those 8x12 evelopes) stood back in line, got the same idiot again, the idiot "rolled his eyes" and I "lost it". I spoke loud enough and asked this idiot;"Having a bad day?"...The idiot then.. tells me, in a smart**** remark, "yeah, because I have to deal with customers all day like you"... THen I really lost it, and "spoke even louder", "well, then maybe you shouldn't be in this type of job if you can't full fill exactly the customers needs, customers get respect too, whether they are right or wrong".. Then I turned around in line to everyone who was standing in line to be served and told them all;" You all be careful, this idiot is having a bad day and is taking it out on us customers"..
I then called the news media on those investigative things we have here and they did a story on how bad customers are treated and how they are forced to pay more monies because the postal people were having a bad day, etc...
The second thing: I just went to the postal place again to have a package to be returned to sender because it was something I did not order,, and the postal lady told me I had to pay to return it. I lost it again. I told her, the package was not opened, look with your eyes!! You have to return it and I am not paying for the return fee.
I asked for the supervisor and this one, DID apologize and told me I did not have to pay a return fee.

I agree with someone who said earlier about the head bobbing, hand throwing, I did that and I did the hand on the hip thing too.
Customers are fighting back, they are mad as h*** and are tired of getting kicked just because these idiots work for the F peoples and feel they can "dish" this sort of customer abuse onto customers. There is no customer satisfaction anymore, it went out the window many many moons ago.
I hope you did file a complaint and sue them!! Your cookies are beautiful and I would have cried too of them getting damaged.
Please let us know the end result of what happened...

Tita-my goodness, I wish I could be like that. I am a very emotional person, and if I get into those things, it escalates into me having a squeaky high voice, so upset I can hardly breathe! Only once did I get into an issue like this with another mom, where I told her off, and my hands were shaking I was so angry! But, the kids DO deserve to be protected-good for you teaching them right! (My DH has to deal with most of these things for me-he stays calm)

My DH actually gets a kick out of my "going off" on people. He's more of a brute force person (he just wants to beat people up). Since I've always been a skinny minny, I've learned to say what I feel in a way that makes people feel like jerks.
I know when to speak up and when to be quiet and I never allow someone to make me or anyone I care about (or anyone at all for that matter) feel sub-human or unimportant. The way I do it is I say to myself, "If I don't defend so-and-so then who will?" AND I make sure I always remember, "it's nothing personal" that way I don't get upset. I'm a very emotional person as well. If I get really upset, I'll cry out of frustration because I can't beat the crap out of someone. Shoot, the person I "go off on" today maybe the same person I'm defending tomorrow (it's happened before)- that goes to show it really isn't personal.

I think people try to take advantage of me because I'm such a "Jesus Freak", but when you messed with something that was near and dear to His heart He flipped tables!

Our children are miracles for my husband and I because we were told we weren't able to have them, so when people mess with them I take great offense to it. When it comes to my DH, I've invested a lot of time, energy and tears into my marriage and I hold him in the highest respect, so when women get stupid and look at him all crazy I let them know really quick that I haven't been saved all my life. If someone talks to him in a way that is disrespectful i let them know, if I don't do it, you can't do it- even his mother!

Just like we've been saying, children only mimic what they see- people only get away with what you let them get away with. Stand up for yourselves- and NOW we're back on topic! LOL!

Wow, I guess we are lucky. Our mailman is older and has a bad leg but he will climb our porch steps and tuck our mail in our front door if he also has a package to deliver, so we don't have to go outside and get the mail. He's a sweetie. He gets cookies every Christmas too. icon_biggrin.gif

On the bad side...my sister sent us a small package for Christmas the Thursday before and we still have not gotten it. icon_sad.gif It contained gift cards which hopefully did not get stolen.

I'm sorry, right there in front of God and everybody, I would have used my cell phone to call 911 and gotten the police there. Even if they could not have done anything, which may have been the case, I would have made an issue out of it and asked them to tell me what I could do to get justice for the situation. I also would have been asking for people who were willing to give names as witnesses to what they saw.

Since it is now after the fact, I would contact the local newspaper and ask them if they would post a notice requesting people who witnessed the punching event at the post office to come forward and provide their names as witnesses so it's not just little old me against the USPS. I would also call the local news station and ask them if they could do a service for me and request that people who witnessed the scene would come forward as I pursue the issue with the USPS so that no one else has to go through this again.

It just aggravates the heck out of me that people think they can treat anyone the way they want to and have the right to do so. UGH
