I don't want to deliver my wedding cake this afternoon! - Page 2

I just looked at your version of the cake and it is stunning. We all really are our own worst critic. Relax and know that you have done a great jon and I am sure the B&G will love it too.

The only difference I can see is that on the original picture, the pointy roofs are taller.

But your cake is just lovely. Honestly.
Inside this fat body, there's a thin woman screaming to get out...... but I can usually shut her up with chocolate!

I agree with everyone else. Your version is very pretty and the castle is most definitely proportionate.

Definetly let us all know how much the B&G loved it. Your cake is way better than the original. I think DDiva's 'schpeel' is brilliant and I'm going to remember that!

I agree with everyone else your cake does look great and I already put it into my faves, I am sure everything will turn out well, and I too think the peaks of the cake you replicated are too tall. I repllicated a cake from the American cake Decorating Magazine for Halloween and It did not turn out the same either but my daughters classmates loved it.

I agree with everyone else, your cake is very pretty...I like it much better than the original!

I got the two pictures mixed up and thought the original was the one you made. When I first saw them I thought, "Oh, she's right, the original is better". Then I realized that what I thought was the original was really the one you made. It is so much prettier. I love how sparkly the rooftops are!!!

Good job.

I love your version. It is much better than the original, I honestly would never choose that style cake based on that magazine picture but may have chosen it based on the picture of yours. If the B&G don't love it, they're crazy. They should thank you for making their cake even better than they asked for. Please let us all know what they say.

It looks fine. Stop worrying.

Apply these rules to future cakes.

1. Always (!) tell a bride, "Guaranteed NOT to look exactly like the photo." I use this phrase and it works just fine.

2. NEVER ask someone, or say in a worried tone of voice, "Gosh, I hope they like it!" I set my cakes down and loudly proclaim, "Oh would you look at that cake! Brim, you are a walking cake GENIUS!!!" icon_biggrin.gif Confident. You are ALWAYS confident!

That wedding planner can go screw. Your cake is beautiful! I too thought your cake was the magazine one and thought the other was better. icon_lol.gif Turned out I had them switched.

I'm curious about what the bride and groom thought! I bet they loved it!

Yes Mom icon_wink.gifthumbs_up.gif ! I know this, but today was hard, plus add to that the usual argument over how to handle a real cake with an arrogant, ignorant Dutch male venue manager (who forced me to raise my voice at him in order to be heard - idiot!).

As many have said before. "We are our own worst critics!" Your cake is beautiful, it is YOURS! The proportions are perfect , the colouring is wonderful - and with the revisions that the B&G wanted, they already know it will not match the mag pic. Take a deep breath and feel your success - you deserve it. icon_smile.gif
