I am going to be trying "sugarshacks" buttercream recipe for the first time and these are my questions that I hope one or many of you wonderful people can help me with. I'm the newbie, who is self taught and learn from all of you!

1. can it be made in advance? If so, how long in advance and how is it stored?

2. If I want to ice my cake but do the final decorations the following day, does it need to be stored in the frig over night or is room temp on my counter fine?

3. If it needs refrigeration, does the cake need to be at room temp before placing fondant flowers on etc???

4. can I just use clear vanilla extract as my flavoring?

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
This cake is due in 7 days so any help ASAP is appreciated!

1. can it be made in advance? If so, how long in advance and how is it stored? it can be made in advance. it can be refrigerated for quite a while, but lasts much longer if you store it frozen, can't recall exactly

2. If I want to ice my cake but do the final decorations the following day, does it need to be stored in the frig over night or is room temp on my counter fine? the cake doesn't need to be refrigerated unless the filling requires refrigeration

3. If it needs refrigeration, does the cake need to be at room temp before placing fondant flowers on etc??? not sure

4. can I just use clear vanilla extract as my flavoring? not sure

Maybe one of the pros will come on and provide more details!

I am not an expert, but used the recipe.

You can use whatever flavoring you want as long as it is the same quantity. I have never just used vanilla...I always add a lil' bit of butter flavor and almond. However, I don't see why it couldn't.

Also the BC doesn't require any fridge...so you should be fine with any fondant that you want to apply.

Definately.....several months. Store at room temp, in frig or fzr as you like.

no refrigeration necessary.
3. If it needs refrigeration, does the cake need to be at room temp before placing fondant flowers on etc???

4. can I just use clear vanilla extract as my flavoring?
*any* flavoring can be use. Any combination of flavors that you want will be good.
