I am making the baby shower clothes line cake for sunday, i was planning to make the baby clothes in advance and attach them to the cake saturday or sunday morning whenever i put the cake together... will this work or should i put them on the cake while they are still fresh and pliable? What do I use to attach them to the cake? I'm icing it in buttercream. TIA!

Hi melissablack, I have often made gumpaste figures a few days in advance, and just kept them in an airtight container to keep from drying out. If you want to attach them soon after you ice the cake, you won't need anything to attach them, just pop them on and press gently. If your buttercream has crusted, paint a little fresh buttercream on the back of your pieces, or a little water and pop right on. Have fun decorating! icon_biggrin.gif
