I've noticed a big difference in the way the Magic Line pans bake compared to the Wilton ones and I'm considering replacing the Wilton pans that I have with Magic Line. I've noticed that the Wilton cakes bake much darker, almost like a crust but the Magic Line ones come out baked perfectly... no dark outside. Is this my imagination or has anyone else noticed this?

Nope, not your imagination at all dinkadoo.. I've noticed the same thing .. the cakes get much darker in Wilton pans .. in the Magic Line, they're nice and light golden in color ... I just LOVE my Magic Line pans and I'm doing the same thing, replacing as I can icon_smile.gif

Hi all...this is my very first post on CC! I too have noticed a big difference with Magic Line vs. Wilton, and I think Magic Line is a far superior product. I'll be replacing my Wilton pans also!

I've noticed the same thing with the Wilton pans...I only have 1 Magic Line, though. After reading this post, I've decided: For every Magic Line pan I buy I'm gonna sell the Wilton one I have in that size on ebay!!! lol
All I see on there is Wilton & people seem to be crazy for 'em.

I use Magic Line pans, as soon as I could I replaced my Wilton ones. Magic Line pans are made in Gardena, California by a company called Parrish's. They have many retailers they sell to. You should be able to purchase them at your local cake supplier. I will get a website address for you.

I have to try these! I'm not thrilled with Wilton either, but that's all I've seen around here. I just finished baking a 10" square in my Wilton pan - does anyone know why they have that design in the bottom of the square and rectangular pans? That bothers me for some silly reason

I love the magic line pans. I have a few of the square ones and 2 sheet pans, but none that are round. You can so tell the difference in them and the Wilton ones.

Good to know I'm not the only one, Ironbaker! icon_wink.gif I find I have to pay close attention to washing them or I find cake residue in the grooves.

I think those lines on the bottom of the Wilton pans are like thier trade mark. No matter what, when you see those lines, you know it's a Wilton pan. They make it distinctive. I do have a few Wilton pans too, but mostly Magic line and they are wonderful. thumbs_up.gif

I have to say I'm a majic line fan! If you do buy wilton... get the decorator's choice. They have straighter sides and the square sides are actually square. They are also heavier duty. I still love my majic line, but I have to order them online. If I'm ina pinch I get the wilton decorator ones from a local cake store.

Hi,

I just recently purchased a Magic Line 11x15 sheet pan from sugarcraft.com. along with some other supplies. I received the other supplies within a week of ordering, but the pan took over a month to get. I was just about to call them to see what the hold up was, and it was delivered that very day. So if you're in a hurry to get the pan, I would call them to check on availability first. I hope the pan is worth the $33 I paid for it. From what I've read about this brand, I won't be disappointed.

Mjmil7: Did I read that right? You paid $33 for a 11X15 pan?
I bought mine locally for 10.99.

Just a comment about the Wilton pans, the only good Wilton pans, in my opinion, are the Decorator Preferred line, most of which has been discontinued. These are far superior to the cheaper lines that are out now, so if all you can get is Wilton, stick with the Decorator Preferred, the squares and rectangles have true squared corners and the rounds bake very well. They are a heavier quality aluminum than the cheaper Wilton lines.
