Try Britain. Our prices haven't gone up since Katrina. I pay 90p per litre. Convert that into dollars the multiply by 4 to get the price per gallon

$6.63 per gallon

Guess somedays it doesn't matter the price of gas, if you can't get any!!!!!

I have family and friends here from Mississippi and they can't get gas to go home on. We have been out of gas since Friday and since today is a holiday we don't look for any deliveries.

On their way to my house out of Mississippi they had horrible experiences with trying to get gas, so they want to make sure that when they pull oout from here that they are completely full or the chances between here and there are slim.

We actually feel stranded, as you don't want to use one ounce afraid you will need it for emergencies.

When we ran out in town it was $3.19 a gallon can't imagine how much it will be when we get some but atleast we will be able to get it.

JennT is the gas situation any better in Mobile?

The situation isn't any better her in La. either. Up here where I live we have gas, it's just high. Down south further they don't have gas either. I hope you're ok there Catbird. I know you're struggling to get by right now. God bless you!

Well it was $1.39 a litre here yesterday so that would make it $5.56 a gallon I think. Isn't that a crime and they say it will keep going up.

Wow Miss Baritone, seems to be used to these high prices. I think we Americans are going to have to get creative and use more public transportation. I live in CT and out Gov. and Attorney General are going to try and stop the price gouging and/or temporarily reduce the gas tax. I'm glad I got the grocery getter Windstar instead of the Durango I was looking at when we bought the car!!! So we're not desperate yet.
I feel so sorry for those who don't have access to gas at all, it's rather frightening how the whoe situation was handled. I wish you all the best.

Dh and i are looking to buy a new car in a few months have decided to get a hybrid. Looking at the highlander hybrid right now. It gets 33 mpg in the city. and you get a tax break when you buy it. it is pricy but will be well worth it. it cost me over 70 bucks to fill up my van.

I would love to go smaller, but I like being able to have plenty of room for cakes! And I definitely need to have seating for 7. How many do the Highlander's seat? Highlander's look cool too. They don't say "Mommy" as much and are actually a little sexy looking!!!

THEY SEAT 7!!!!!!! i too need seating for seven. not that i have seven people with me but i have 3 boys and they cant all sit next to each other. lol Check out the ford freestyle as well gets pretty good gas milage and seats 7. its about 5 to 7 thousand cheaper than a highlander but not a cool looking. lol

prices have started going up now. We're now paying £1.06 per litre which works out at $7.79 per gallon
