Iâm headed to New York City this weekend and I wanted to visit some of the cupcake bakeries that Iâve heard so much about.

On my list to visit are:

Buttercup Bake Shop
Magnoliaâs
Sugar Sweet Sunshine

Does any know of other noteworthy shops? Which has the best tasting cupcake?

thanks

Wish I could spend the day eating cupcakes there, but here's some I'd add to your list! icon_smile.gif

Cupcake Cafe
Crumbs
Baked (great t-shirts there too!)
Sweet Melissa Patisserie
Billy's Bakery

and if you like decorated cookies, you can't miss...

Eleni's

You have to go to a place called Crumbs! It's very little, so you have to be on the lookout for it! But it's awesome! There is usually a really long line! It's right beside Brian park or Bryant park. (I always get that park and a local park confused).

There are lots of NY locations, according to their website. Must be one near where you'll be?

You have to check out Eleni's too. They have gorgeous cookies but they also sell delicious cupcakes. The Reece's one is so yummy! But, wait till after 5pm and all the baked goods like cupcakes, brownies and drop cookies go half price. You really need to be there right at 5 to get the best selection and try the most flavors. I liked the brownie bites too. The oatmeal cookies where also tasty! Great deal and cute little shop. Don't try to take a picture inside the store though...they will ask you to put it away.

Right next door is the Fat Which Bakery that sells fabulous brownies. They also offer their daily brownies half off after 5pm. It does not include the wrapped/packaged brownies at the tables, just ask the folks behind the counter.

Both places are located at the Chelsea Market which is a delightful place for a foodie!

The shakes at Ronnybrook Dairy are sick good. Pretty pricey but such a nice treat.

Have a great time!

Thanks for all the suggestions. We leaving tomorrow morning, so Iâve been busy printing maps to all the shops.

With so many great cupcakes (and cookies, and brownies, and shakes) to sample, Iâm afraid Iâm going to gain 10 pounds on this trip. icon_rolleyes.gif

That's why New Yorkers always walk everywhere! Central Park is so beautiful to walk in!
