I really like this pan, but how are you supposed to cut the cake so that every slice has icing on it??
I have used my giant cupcake pan twice and both times I cut it kinda like you would cut a pie. I cut each slice fairly thin since it is so tall. HPL.
I put plenty of icing between the two parts, to "glue" them together...I even sometimes squish icing into the bottom part.
I recently purchased the giant cupcake pan and the first time I used it I covered the entire cake with fondant. I was using the pan as a base, not as a cupcake per say. Well, when I got it covered I was truly taken back. It looked like the top of male genitalia. Even after I decorated it, all I could see was this huge phallic symbol. I did slice it like a pie and that worked out well although the pieces are rather tall. I'm just not certain that I can use that pan again.

Good to know. I need to write that down No covering cupcake pan cake with fondant for PTA bake sale....got it....
I used a small board between top and bottom. put icing on bottom, then the board, then the top layer. Frost and dec as you will. Then I cut it down the center, top to board and cut each half in slices. Take off the board in between when the top is all cut, and repeat prevoius steps for bottom layer. It worked for me. HTH
thanks for all the advice. unfortunately I didn't put icing between the top and bottom and I have to deliver this cake in a few hours. I guess this is one of those "you have to learn the hard way" lessons! LOL OH and thanks for the fondant warning. I was thinking about making one covered in fondant for a childs birthday...um that won't be happening now.
