Wanted To Share My Idea For A Last Minute Cupcake Carrier

I had an idea that I wanted to share with everyone...
There is a Halloween party at my work and I am making (what feels like) a million cupcakes. I bought the cup cake couture carrier which I love, and it holds 36 cupcakes. I was able to add 6 more to each tray by placing them in between the cupcakes so that left me 18.
I had all of these things around the house:
round cake carrier
10" separator plate
wilton hidden pillars
non skid shelf liner
I cut the pillars just a bit taller than the cupcakes, lined the cake carrier and the 10 inch separator plate with the shelf liner, the pillars snap on the separator plate and centered it on the cake carrier. My 18 cupcakes fit perfect. I think I could have fit 24.
If any body is interested I can post a picture tomorrow, my husband took my cord to upload my photos to work with him today. haha.
mmmm having a hard time picturing it, but sounds like a great idea.....I know at some point in time, we all need to carry more than 24 cupcakes.
can't wait to see the picture.
Hi everybody.
I think that your DIY cupcake carrier sounds great.
I'm from Denmark where cupcakes are just now becomming "known". Therefore we unfortunately don't have a wide range off shops and products concerning cupcakes - especially not carriers!
I have spent more than two days searching the internet for a carrier with no luck. I found them on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk though, but they do not ship anything but books to Denmark
I think I will have to sweettalk my boyfriend into making a carrier for me. Thanks for the great idea and inspiration
Mvh. Anne-Mette
P.S. Please excuse me if I don't spell correctly.
What a fabulous idea
I can see it perfectly in my head.
My wilton cupcake carrier only holds 12 cupcakes, so I'm always stuck with extra to take and no solution. I am happy that I can now turn my round cake holder into a cupcake holder too.
THANKS!!!!!
For any of you who have to do more than 36 cupcakes, like for large events or weddings. I found that you can get the under the bed boxes usually pretty cheap at walmart. Line with the no stick shelf stuff and behold a sturdy carrier to move approximately a 100 or so. I had a wedding awhile back where I had 135 cupcakes and it worked perfectly!
