I can never get it to stay on! I use plywood boards covered in white paper and then clear mac tac. But when I try and put a ribbon around it it just slides off. I stappled it once but it didn't look very nice, I can't push pins into it because it's so hard and I'm reluctant to use glue so close to my cake. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

Well I'm certainly no expert, but I used my finger and rubbed Elmer's glue on the ribbon then attached it to my cake board. It looked so nice and flat! There was no excess glue or anything, so I don't think there would be a problem at all.

I use my glue gun.

Have you tried double sided sticky tape? I use them and its so easy.

I use a glue gun also but hate the "stings" afterwards not to mention if you get areas that are raised up. I didnt like Elmers glue because it didnt seem to stay on very well. I think a glue stick would be neat. I wonder how double sided tape would work?

Aileen's is fine --non-toxic. I have a white water-based super glue that is awesome and I use that. I don't have it in front of me to recall the name, but I buy it in Hobby Lobby. It, too, is non-toxic.

I use my tape runner from my scrapbooking supplies. It's like using double sided tape, but so much easier. Works great!

I use double sided tape and think its the easiest thing there is!

i have also used royal frosting as long it does not change the color of the ribbon. But i always set the board up days in advance so that the glues dries. As long a the glue says non-toxic i think its ok to use on the board.

I found a great product. It is adhesive backed ribbon. I am looking at the spool. I believe that it is by a company named Darice. It is about a half an inch, I am going to see if I can find it in about a 1/4 in.

That sounds good! If not, we should make it ourselves and market it to the cake decorating world!!
