Hi People, I don't visit this forum so much as I would like to, but I use any minute I have to get inspired and advice. Now I need you help again. I'm asked to make a cake for a High Tea. The theme is S e x & the city. I was thinking something sexy but not too explicit. Like a base cake (round or square and maybe a shoe and some lingerie on top. I'm thinking of making the brasier with royal icing on balloons . have anyone tried this before? Have anyone worked with royal icing on a balloon and how do I do it? I don't have much time for it to set so I must give this a some quick thinking.

If you have any better or other ideas, please share.

I missed that one. I can even cover the cake with a "satin sheet", draped fondant. I really quite excited about this cake. something new.

I would do a designer purse, Mannolo Blahniks, and the coctail in a 3d grouping.

If you need more servings, put it on a lepord print cake.

I LOVE sex and the city. Too bad you can't carve Mr. Big..... icon_wink.gif

Don't know if I can carve Mr Big, but I sure can carve what he is named after icon_biggrin.gif

I like your ideas. I'm gonna give them all to the client. Would I be able to do leopard print in shimmer (satin), I bet with a lot of efford I would be able. If I use black and gold luster dust.

not necessarily you could use stung fake pearls (obviously explaining tha they are not eddible,) i sometimes use plastic strung pearls insteadof ribbon for edging on my cakes but you could also litterally string your fondant pearls if you wanted to make them edible, using wire or string. i think this would look better than the fake ones IMO but it is probably a time factor more than anything thumbs_up.gif

I bought a fake string and don't have a mould yet. so fake it would be. Seeing that the glass will be fake as well. The client have not yet decided on a design. Sh must hurry up though.
