I think we should all call for a ban on evil cakes... I just made Martha's Lemon and Cream Cheese cake and the batter was so evil it possessed me to fight my poor 2 year old daughter for the spatula and beaters. Poor kid. She didn't stand a chance.
It is pure evil if it can make a mother turn on her own daughter, so I think we ought to start banning evil recipes that disguise themselves as such tasty batters!!!
Too funny! Totally not what I was expecting when I opened this post but I totally get what you mean!!!
You silly; that is why you simply double the recipe and eat whatever doesn't fit in the pans!!
Poor little girl, I hope you had the decency to call Childrens Services for her....she isn't safe in the house!
I was rolling my eyes as I opened this post (lookingfor a little late night distraction) and much to my delight I found "a funny!!" Thanks for the laugh, I needed it! Soooooo...where's the recipe?
I know exactly what you mean Kate ! I love that recipe !!!
(I try to make it when the kids aren't around !!!)
There is a documented defense against evil cakes - stick a toothpick in your mouth so nothing else can get in their. If need be, stick the whole box of toothpicks in your mouth .
Yes - where is the link for this evil cake so I can stay away from it?
I know what you mean. On baking days at home I occasionally have to wrestle my son to the floor trying to get my beaters away from him! LOL
Thanks for the early morning laugh and have a fabulous day!
I don't know the link but if you go to marthastewart.com/weddings, the recipe is the " Meyer lemon & cream cheese pound cake " ( summer '07 )
Hey jules06!
I love the names of your children (especially Callum - It's my oldest son's name too!)
Here's the link:

ROTFL!!!!
You guys are too funny..... pass the beaters....
thanks for the morning giggle!
Even funnier is going to be the MS tech support team when they are trying to fix her site after it crashes because so many people are trying to link up to the recipe!
I think this is it: http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/meyer-lemon-and-cream-cheese-pound-cake?autonomy_kw=Meyer lemon + cream cheese pound cake
Thanks for the heads up. However, when you tell someone DONT LOOK AT ME, they always look.
There are going to be so many children being abused over the beaters, way to go. Count me in for the evil cake.
I, too, was pleasantly surprised by the context of the initial post. I was thinking, "Geez...another Halloween hater!" To my delight I found nothing of the sort, but rather a gal with a great sense of humor!
This recipe can be added to the "evil cakes" list: Colette Peters' Chocolate Bourbon Cake.
I don't have kids, but the dogs were looking at me quizzically as I was moaning and groaning licking THOSE beaters!
hehe, yeah, it was the meyer lemon recipe that someone was good enough to post the link to... But try it at your own peril! You have been warned!
Now I'm going to have to try the chocolate burbon cake - though I don't like my chances when I try to fight my poor hubby for the beaters!
any recipe that starts off with 4 sticks of butter.........HAS GOT TO BE EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you could see the looks on my family members faces including the animals when i a reading some of the comments on this site.......they all think i am crazy, nuts, that i have been taken over by some strange force............. ............they look at me with concern as to say do we have to have her commited. LOL
Do not worry we would never call child services on you> We all understand. Unfortunatly
Haha This sounds like one of those real B grade horror movies, with wicked cake batters posessing poor innoecnt cakers, turning us into an army of evil bakers and decorators...
And of course they'd have a secret arsonal of batters in the fridge for any child srevice workers who come knocking on the door... They wouldn't know what hit em!
