I am going to be making a three tier fondant cake this week for a baby shower on Saturday. The problem, I have to transport the cake 4 hours to its destination. Any suggestions on how to get it there unharmed???

Wow!! 4 hours away!! Myself, I'd assemble when I got there, bring extra icing, fondant, tools and make sure that each tier individually boxed is on a super flat surface. (Some car trunks are kinda slanty). If you place a little piece of the non slip mat that is used for under area rugs, under each box this helps with the sliding on carpeted car interiors...If its a warm day, turn on your a/c..and as I tell my DH "drive like there's cake in the car!" lol... I'm sure someone on here that is braver than I can tell you how to get it there fully assembled, but like I said, I'm a scaredy cat!!! lol!! Good luck!!!

I know.....I brought it on myself though. The shower is for my brother/wife and I agreed to make it. I would make it at the location, but there is no room at my grandparent's home, therefore, I have to get as much done here as possible. And then.....the dreaded drive.....with kids in the car!!

If you order SPS today from Global Sugar Art, you should have it it hand by the time you are ready to assemble your cake. You can assemble it, or at least partially assemble it beforehand. Cake doesn't travel well in the trunk of a car, though. I hope you have a SUV or van.

This probably sounds very silly, and I am racking my brain...what is SPS?
