Delivering A Cake With Royal Icing Extension Work

I was wondering how well cakes decorated with moderate to extensive royal icing collars, extension work, etc. travel. Is there a fair amount of breakage?
I transported a demo cake from a class with extension work home in the back of my car-I wasn't very careful and there was no damage.
I think putting in on non-skid in a large box, on a cushioned base with more non-skid should get it there.
Once stringwork dries, then it usually stands up to transport fairly well. It it's touched, then it crashes. Really rough roads can cause strings to break if they are long.
I don't know how well collars do in transport. I'm guessing that they will be fine if they don't have a large over hang.
Please post pictures of the cake(s). I love stringwork.
