Is there a way to reharden candy canes that have soften? If so, how is it done????

Good question, I personally do not know. If they are hand made, you can reheat them in a covered bowl in your microwave ( I learned this thru trial & error over the weekend) Try a few seconds at a time depending on the amount. However if they are multi colored, like red & white you will loose that effect.

I made the mistake of placing store bought candycanes in a room that became too warm. The candycanes became soft, gummy like, on the outside. I want to make some peppermint bark. I usually use candycanes to make it. I was hoping someone would know how to restore the hardness to them. I will try the microwave and see if this works.

So sorry, there I can't help. With my own lollipops, when they get that way I just give them away to kids I know.
