Ugh.. anything with hominy in it! It's like biting on a piece of gristle, blech!

I made plenty of crap in my life, though. Too much vinegar, too much rosemary, too many "Hmm... what would this herb go well with?" (apparantly nothing).

I have to start following recipes again icon_razz.gif

When I try a new recipe, I always ask DH if he likes it. His kind response to crappy recipes is "I wouldn't order it in a restaurant!". Then I know for sure it's crappy.

My mom used to make a HORRIBLE dish with potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. I can still smell it and see it. It was a pale sickly green/white with blobs of orange. This was so sad because most of the time she was a really a good cook. There were other things that she made that I don't miss. icon_smile.gif

My Mom's horrible dish was salmon croquets. I think that's what she called them LOLOL. They were salmon out of a can, and shaped into lil pyramids then fried to the rock stage. OMG the were bad. We had them once a week. Miserable just miserable. LOLOL

Anyone ever have navy beans for dinner growing up???

There were six children in my family, my mom was a stay at home mom...so we always knew it was a really tight month for my parents when she served a big pot of navy beans for dinner. If we were lucky, there was a little ham in it for added flavor.....

Yuk....my stomach is feeling queasy just thinking about it......

OMG! My mother made those salmon croquettes as well! So nasty......canned salmon fried until hard and black on the outside.....soft, noxious mush on the inside......ugh. I haven't even thought about that in years and years...... icon_lol.gif
Hmmm...... I actually like navy bean soup. With the right mix of seasonings and some crusty bread! icon_smile.gif

my mom made "casserole" it was a package of cheap butter noodles or cheap fettuccini noodles. Mixed with whatever frozen or canned veggie was around - peas, lima beans, corn, broccoli... - and then some kind of meat, again, whatever was around. Maybe some leftover chicken, fried ground beef.. Mix all together in one big pot and TADA you have dinner. *gag*
