Here's a new one on me.

For the baby shower you give the mom to be a special small little cake as a gift and she freezes it till the baby's first BD.

What gives? Poor kids first bite of cake and it's a year old? icon_rolleyes.gif

Never heard of it, but if you give it to the child frozen, while it's teething, I'm sure the child will enjoy it. LOL!

Very different...I don't think I would actually do that. But hardly any one saves their anniversary cakes anymore so why would they do it for their baby?!?

I wonder if it's an old tradition that is sort of revisited? I know that someone here was giving the history of saving the anniversary cake and it had something to do with cakes being expensive and usually the couple getting pregnant right after getting married, so the cake was able to be used for the christening or something like that. DON'T QUOTE ME!!! icon_smile.gif As I'm sure I totally buchered it, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I read that. Or perhaps it's something that that group of friends is wanting to make a tradition within their group? To each his own I guess...haha

Have you heard about hiding a small plastic baby in the cake somewhere? Whoever receives the piece of cake with the baby in it is supposed to be blessed with a baby in the near future... It's a baby shower game....
