Can't wait for your next DVD to come out!!!! Thanks for all your help Sharon. I had nightmares last night about the cake falling apart or getting knocked over, NOPE, not this time!!!

Can you see these photo's anyone?? I keep getting a file name and no pic. I'm not very computer savvy.

But the cake was 5 tiers, each tier is 4 1/2 inches tall, it has fondant 8mm beads with luster dust. I was sure happy with it considering the nightmares I was having....

Maybe I shouldnt wait 3 years to do a wedding cake!!!!

I love Sharon's dvds. I have learned so much. I had one person look at a picture of the cake with red scroll work (it's in my photos) and ask if that was fondant. Uh, no, it was Sharon's dvd that I learned how to ice buttercream like that. Thank you Sharon. My cakes are more smooth and level, I love her and can't wait for her new dvds to be released.

Beautiful Cake. I also have all of Sharon's DVD but I can't justify the cost of Sweetex at this time icon_cry.gif. And only 1 store in my area sells a few cups of it and the cost is really expensive.

Hopefully I get to try the recipe soon.

I transported it with just 3 tiers and assembled the rest when I got there. I was afaid the icing would crack and it did a tiny tiny bit but then I just rubbed the (I won't give away the secret) and the cracks disappeared!!!

Sharon's my new hero! I'm singing really high pitched right now, can you hear me!!!!

flg22275, I don't buy the sweetex, I buy the food lion off brand vegetable shortening with 3 grams of trans fat in it. I tried the kroger off brand and it only has 1 gram of trans fat and it DID NOT WORK, ruined an entire batch of SugarShacks icing...... icon_cry.gif

Try your local grocer and use the off brand, works EVERY time for me!

HTH, I can't afford $10 for 3 pounds of that stuff either! Mine is only $2.96 for 3 lbs!

Fantastic job gingersoave. Where do you get the food lion off brand vegetable shortening from? Ralphs or Vons? Which supermarket? Help! I too can't afford Sweetex at the moment.

Food Lion is our local grocery store here in Virginia Beach, you can go to any local grocer and they usually sell their shortening in an off name brand, mine is food lion brand or they also have Richfood brand sold at Farm Fresh, kroger has their off brand but like I mentioned above Kroger only has 1 gram of transfat in it. You really want it to have at least 3 grams of trans fat in it. So go to any local place and start reading the back of the can. I don't know what I am going to do if the off brand goes trans fat-less.

Caitlin, in case you missed the info here's Sharon's DVD info and where to order it. MAKE SURE you get the bench scraper and the little palette knife, those are extremely important when following her DVD. She will have them on her web site to order, probably cheaper to get it all at once.

Thanks gingersoave! We used to have a Food Lion here in Texas but they bailed several years ago. I have been using the Wal-mart off brand, but I read somewhere also about Target off-brand.

Thanks so much for the info.

Ginger, I just have to sa again how impressed I am byt this cake. HUGE, totally NAKED with perfect icing, small borders with no boards showing....

You just rocked the heck out of this cake. I can tell you are on a cake high, and you should be! I would be flying high if I made that cake!

Were you able to chill your upper tiers before moving them over at the venue?

I know your bride had to be thrilled; you NEED to do wedding cakes girl!
