I'm decorating a cake to take with me on a road trip and it's covered in fondant plus I have gumpaste flowers that I'd like to put on the cake and then refrigerate that way when I get to my families house for Thanksgiving I won't have to do anything but eat hahaha.

Will anything happen to the gumpaste flowers? I worried that they might get soft or something.

Any suggestions?

I would not take the risk. moisture/condensation will evaporate from the cake ok, but the flowers could wilt with any moisture.

I would not put them in the fridge either. I make mine in advance and but them in an airtight container. They are always fine and in good shape.

I have to agree. The moisture in the fridge could do strange things to the gumpaste.

I would put them on once you get there. how long could it take?
