Where does everyone get there cookie bags? Where can you buy bags to put an individual cookie? I used a celophane bag the last time I made cookies, but I thought they were a bit too big. Is there a website that has smaller bags, or can you find them at hobby lobby?

I just bought a bunch of cello bags at walmart for $1.00 for 20 bags. I got clear and pastel colors too.

A little while back I ordered some bags from papermart.com and it was a bulk order.

I think the best ones are from Hobby Lobby. They are in the party section and are a bit larger and easily accomodate larger cookies. The price I find is much more resonable than the Wilton ones. They are where the party favor bags are. I stick with the clear ones and use all kinds of ribbon.

Okay, I know you are going to think I sound totally crazy, but I often us the fold-top sandwich bags! I just cut the sides of the folded part so it sticks up even with the other side. I have all of the other bags, big and really small and many sizes in between, but the thing I like about the sandwich bags is that they aren't that hard celaphane stuff and I can fold the leftover to the back of the cookie to make the bag the perfect size. I made up address labels like business cards and use those to hold the flap over. I know it sounds 'ghetto' but I really like them. If you get a chance to see some of my cookies, you will see what I mean.

Now THIS might sound crazy... but, when ordering the bulk bags - does anyone have the solution to which 'mil' is the best? I am used to working with very thick bags back in another line of work. I wonder if you can get away with the thinnist of mil?

*I wonder also about that word... thinnist...

khufstetler, I bulk order bags from Uline, they are a great company, you get your stuff quick and their customer service is top notch. I ordered the 2 mil for the first go round, I like the way they handle, they keep the cookie very nice, but they are hard to get into when someone eats the cookie. You almost have to have scissors on hand to help out. So the next time around, I ordered 1 mil. You can get into them OK, no scissors needed. Because they are thinner, they are a little harder to handle, as in getting the cookies in the bag, a little more static, if you know what I mean. They also keep the cookie OK, I have frozen cookies bagged in both. There are pros and cons to each, hope this helps a little.

Thanks LineDancer... I was actually looking at Uline! How cool. I think I'll try the 1.5 mil - get the best and worst of both worlds so to speak.

I get the Wilton ones from Michaels or Joanns. Wilton makes a few different sizes. If they dont have them in the store, you could order them through the catalog or online. Otherwise the other suggested websites work as well. It just depends if you're in a hurry and need them now, or if you have time to wait for them to be delivered
