Ok, I know it doesn't compare to most of the cakes on this site, but i was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

She (my mom's friend) wanted a simple looking cake for her MIL's birthday. Chocolate was a must. This is a chocolate cake with fudgy filling and chcolate buttercream (thanks Serious_Cakes!)

You did a great job! It is a beautiful cake. I think that chocolate is hard to decorate with/ around and your simple design was lovely!

I have one small suggestion since you are starting to sell them. Make sure to cover your board. Not only does it add a nice finishing touch, it also prevents oil from seeping into the cardboard which can make it weaker. I would hate to see the board buckle when they go to put it on the table!!!

O.K. Lisa, you did a great job smoothing and I also love your writing. What was your trick for smoothing (always curious the different methods people use).
