Print Your Own Nutrition Labels
Business By OhMyGanache Updated 1 Dec 2009 , 3:51am by purplebutterfly1234
Just thought I'd share a site with you that I've been using for a couple of years. By the amount of PMs I received yesterday when I mentioned it, I realized that perhaps there was a greater need than I had thought for this kind of site among decorators.
The site is www.nutritiondata.com
You can analyze your recipes and print nutrition labels for free. They will have the website name on them though - but it's better than paying $500 for the software.
I searched a LONG time to find it (I was really searching for a less expensive program to buy - but I found this site, and free is always better than cheap) and hope that posting it might save someone else some time and/or money.
Cheers!
Thank you for posting this link - I've always wondered if I could create a label myself.
Thanks for sharing PoleKitten. I'll have to check it out. Havn't had the need yet, but I hope to be able to legally sell soon, and I will be needing them.
You are a lifesaver... and time saver ~ since I specialize in vegan and (can do allergy-free), I wanted to have this info readily available.
THANKS A HUNDRED TIMES
You're all very welcome!
To Cakedesigner59: Labeling is sometimes required if you are selling individually packaged items - such as wholesaling to coffee shops and sometimes at farmer's markets (depending in your local laws).

Once you enter a recipe, the program will analyze it and give you the option for printing out a label.
Here is one of the labels I did a while ago...
I got an e-mail from them a few weeks ago about changes to their site, but I don't think they changed the label format.
Thank you again polekitten. I've entered a couple of recipes and printed out the nutrion label.Just need to get some avery stickers and reduce size and I'll be set. Thank you again. This is so professional . What a handy tool' I've said it before & I'll say it again thank you CC. That means all of you that make up this wonderful sharing community. Yor so generous with your time and talents. karen
I know I already thanked you, BUT... this couldn't have come at a better time. So, thanks again!!!
the reason: Two local stores have agreed to carry some of my baked goods and refer vegan cake requests to me. WHAT????
I did not expect them to say "yes"... but we do have several colleges, so maybe that helped?
You rock!

Wow! Congratulations!!!
Just make sure you check with your local health department to make sure the labels meet all of their requirements.
Thanks poleKitten for sharing I will try to do a label this weekend.. Thanks to all who make this site a wonderful place to share ideas and talents I would not be where I am today without all of you thanks again Le'Ann
Thanks for posting this site. i went there and signed up. When I post some values though, I can only save the image as as PDF file and when I print it, it prints as a full page. I am trying to find something so I can print it to stickers. I just opend shop this week and am doing diabetic baked goods also and would like to have these labels on items I sell.
Just double check with whoever requires your labels. This might not fly.
I'm not required to list nutrition information unless I'm making a nutritional claim; sugar free, fat free, etc. I do, however, have to list ingredients, contact info, weight, etc.

How to get around this problem:
Pull up the label on your screen, making sure you can view everything you want to view on that screen.
Hit the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard (mine is PrtSc, above the Backspace key).
Open Paint (free on all Windows operating systems; Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Paint).
Paste. Keyboard command: Ctrl + v That will pull up what you've just screen captured as an image.
From there, you can crop it and save it as an image. You can use that image to paste onto labels and print, tile it on a sheet of paper, etc.

Thanks so much. I will give that a try.
Thank you so very much for this information, you rock.
And Thank You to all the very helpful CC Members.
I wish I could figure this out. When I click on create recipe, it brings me to a page and asks to create/edit recipe. The box under "add ingredient", I type in flour for example and nothing comes up. Am I missing something?
