I get so busy on Friday nights that I usually forget to join the club. I'm kinda chill this week. I should bake a cake tonight but it "can" wait until the morning. It's not being picked up until Sunday. I've already finished all my other ones for the week.

Hi everybody I'm up I already baked my cake. I'm decorating tomorrow. Now I'm just cooling out with my husband and cousin listening to music. I check back later.

I'm working on a four tier right now. Then I need to frost and decorate a five tier and then a groom's cake. May be an all-nighter.

Yipes! I thought I was busy. I'm actually way ahead of schedule. Only a two tier wedding cake w/ kitchen cake that's almost finished-I'll put the final touches on tomorrow. I've finished my ballet tutu 3-D cake and I've only got a birthday cake for tomorrow afternoon to do and I'm all set. Okay, so I have no idea how I'm decorating the birthday cake, but perhaps inspiration will come to me in my sleep. After I smooth my icing on my kitchen cake I'm done for the night.

Okay - I've caught up with everyone -

I do declare tdybear - you must be able to apply icing and smooth with spatulas in both hands and feet!!

Leahs - I've go the SPS question. I am making a 4 tier wedding cake for tomorrow. The initial order (by the bride) was for a 12, 9, 6 round. The future fil called and wanted a bigger cake for the bride and could I add another tier - sure - so I baked a 14" round last night to add to it.

Now - I messed up ordering by plates from BCrafts and I didn't get a 9" or 8" round plate. Should I just substitute a wilton plate and hidden pillars for that tier - or should I use a 6" plate and sps pillars under the cardboard plate of the 9" layer?

Does that make sense?

Besides the wedding cake I have 1 small cake for tomorrow and a 1/2 sheetcake for Sunday - so not a bad weekend - - -

no, I actually did bring in that great girl who helps me out when I need it. I iced up all the birthday/shower cakes today and now she is decorating them all while I work on my wedding cakes. Thank God for her, she does such good work

So Suzy, you have 2, 6" plates? 'Cause you'll need one under that 6" tier. Frankly I think I'd just use the Wilton under the 9" rather than trying to make do with that little 6". Although . . . it should work, using a 9" cardboard, of course.

I can't believe I'd ever recommend Wilton anything . . .

Leahs,

What exactly does the sps stand for. I was trying to figure it out so I could find it on globalsugarart website, but wasn't sure what I was looking for.

SPS = Single Plate Separator

On the GSA site it's in the link for Tiered Cake Supplies.
On the Oasis Supplies site, just put SPS in the search box.
