SPS instructions - Page 34

I have a question please, I have just bought a mini wedding cake pan, you know the 3tier cake, the one you can make 4 at a time. My problem iz that I am having a really hard time covering it with fondant, as the layers are all in one, as in one cake, (hope this makes sense)many thanks.

What does this have to do with SPS?
Those tiny all in one cakes don't need a support system.

Hey! I was going through the tool box last week and came across my PVC pipe cutter. I was thinking that it would be great for cutting the columns. Has anyone tried this?

Yes, lots of people used a pipe cutter.

Hi,

I have to do a 4 tier wedding cake and am interested in using SPS as I think I will need to preassemble. Can I ask how many servings you usually lose from the system (as the columns seem quite thick?). The cake will most likely be 12,10, 8, 6 and needs to serve 90 for dessert. I'm hoping that this will be enough cake still once the columns are taken out.

Thanks!

Hi

2 out of 5 of my tiers are hexagonal - 12" and 8".    What size plate is best to use and will the bits of cake bigger that the plate look like they are every so slightly suspended up off the tier below because of the missing plastic bit?      Help?!

Oh and sorry I forgot to mention - I live in Singapore - and need the stacking system by 19 June?!  How am I going to get my hands on one?!

@ Lolly, you don't lose enough cake to the columns to give it a second of worry. You have 134 servings in your cake as it is.

@TK, shipping overseas is always an issue. You very well may not have enough time. Contact Oasis Supply. And no, there is such a tiny bit not on the SPS plate, its just not an issue. And you're using a hex cardboard. You'd use 12" and 8" plates.

Thanks Leah.

Won't the plate stick out if I get 12" round for 12" hex? Sorry to be dim, just don't want to go to all the trouble of getting it here (jeeze shipping is expensive) to find the plates are too big.
Thanks

Do the hex tiers have borders?

On both, Just a small ribbon of fondant 1/4 high 1/8 thick to for, a backing for my Small flat 2D shapes to adhere to so they stand slightly off the side of the cake (hope that makes sense?,.

Hi,

I joined today and have been reading through the threads, but can't find the SPS instructions. I'm new to the site and I don't see the sticky on the top section of the forum that is refered to in the posts. Can you please point me in the right direction to find the information.

Thank you.

Click on Forums at the top of the page.  Choose the Cake Decorating Forum.  It's the second Sticky.
