I was checking out a wedding site to see what the local trends are lately, and look what I found!

The worst part is that I have seen this exact attitude many times - unfortunately it's not new. Imagine the YouTube videos that WE could make to spoof brides and grooms! HA! icon_twisted.gif

YES! Let's do it!

Let's set up a video where a B&G AND the POB come to a consultation! We've got the Prissy Princess of Gimme-land, her groom who basically grunts his answers cause he doesn't want to even BE THERE so he's no help, the MOB who enables the Princess to rightfully continue her entitlement tactics and wants to plan this as her own second wedding, and the FOB who continuously wipes his furrowed brow as he sits there listening to his Princess and the Queen as they run the cake designer ragged.

OOOOOH! Let's add in a couple of kids!!! Small, misbehaving ones who play with the display toppers! The parents ignore their misbehavior. It'll be priceless when the cake designer, in attempt to control the situation, reminds the Princess that tastings are for adults to concentrate on making decisions as she digs out some crayons and paper. Crayons...on...walls!

just joking, people! Thankfully, many of the customers we decorate for are not like the above!

That was hilarious! It is true sometimes though. I don't understand how people charge more per serving for a wedding cake then a party cake. I charge $2.50 per serving regardless what it is for. I then add on for pillars and ribbon. I sometimes add on if they want a lot of flowers or silk flowers as a topper. I list that stuff seperate then give a total. I charge for delivery in both situations. But I may charge more for a wedding cake if I need help to lift and have to pay someone. But that spoof is funny as heck. I am all up for makig a spoof about brides and grooms. That will be funny too.

Thanks for sharing that link - it was so funny, I was laughing out loud! I don't do Wedding cakes much (unless I personally know them) just for that reason - I don't want to deal with MOBs or Bridezillas

oh....ohhh....(jumping up and down with hand in the air)... icon_lol.gif

can we make the Princess Bridezilla 2 hours early for her appointment and the cake designer isn't even ready for her? Or even better....she and her entourage show up at the door with NO appointment demanding an on-the-spot tasting?! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Oh- and as usual, they want Sylvia Weinstock style for a WalMart budget!! icon_lol.gif

I loved it! Especailly when he says it's a shitty cake for four times the price of the other. Thanks for that, it just made my day.

I have watched that before and it is really funny.

I never understood why people charged more for wedding cakes until I started getting requests to do wedding cakes. Dealing with the bride to be, and the mother of the bride, and all the many contacts, etc - it is worth charging more for the hassle!

I love that video too. And there ARE a lot of reasons to charge more for a wedding type cake than a party one.... but for reals ppl.... its greatly because YOU CAN.

(for the record I have one set of pricing for all single cakes and one for all wedding/tiered cakes)

That is hilarious, especially when the groom kept saying that it's just the same cake with sh*tty ribbon and sh*tty guy and sh*tty lady. hahaha..... I showed it to my husband and he laughed too, although he agrees with the groom. MEN.
