I have a friend who wants cupcakes for her wedding. She wants ivory liners... and before anyone suggests the laser wraps, no, she doesn't want anything fancy like a laser wrap (I already suggested those.) She's into "simple."

Here's my dilemma: I can't find any liners listed as "ivory" out on the web and I think the pale yellow will be too yellow. So, do you think if I bake the cupcakes in the white wrappers, the batter will show through therefore making the overall effect ivory? The cupcakes will be Italian Cream Cake.

Any advice or ideas would be great!

you can make your own cupcake collars. there are templates here. trace it on an ivory colored wrapping paper. that is if you're willing to do that.

I think that a vanilla colored cupcake would make a white liner appear ivory. Maybe you could put a ribbon around each cupcake in the ivory color too if the color isn't just right. . . . . . Hope you find your answer!!

Just mix up a little batch and see. You could try both idea's out (the white wrapper and the wrapping paper). See what works best --that way you will know which one to do! Best of all there won't be any worries about whether the wrapping paper will hold up or whether the the cake will make the white wrapper turn ivory. You know what's going to happen in advance.
