think I should use gumpaste or satin ice for some leaves that are going to go on top of cupcakes which will be on a cupcake box tower I want to have a few extra for decoration on the boxes I will be making them probably the end of oct for a wedding on nov 28th I need to have about 200
I would use satin ice, since even though it will dry hard, it won't dry AS hard as gumpaste, and it will also have a more pleasant flavor, since many will probably eat it with their cupcake.
You could also use rice or wafer paper, that would give the leaves a more realistic look.
Oh, what is rice or wafer paper? where do you find it and how do you use it? all advice on that one would be great, I am still new to this..
Thanks
Rice paper and wafer paper are one and the same item.
The proper name is 'wafer paper'.
It comes in 8x10 sheets and sometimes in small (6"?) circles. It's great for making leaves (fabo autumn leaves!), b'flies; and other small decorations....including some flowers.
Most cake supply shops carry it. I'm not sure what on-line places you can order it from....probably CountryKitchen....
