I've seen a lot of cookies, very beautiful cookies made by some of you guys, and I've been wondering what king of icing do you use, or what do you put in your icing to make it so shinny??
Mine always dry up with a dull finish. And to me they look lifeless. Any pointers?
Toba's will stay shiny when it is dry (though not like when it is wet). As misabel99 noted, it has corn syrup in the recipe, so that's what contributes to the shine.
I used Toba's as well, although I mixed the powd. sugar & corn syrup first and then slowly added the milk (only using about 1/3 of it so I could outline, then added a little more totally 2/3 to flood). Hers dried great and stayed shiny for days.
I haven't had such a shiney result with Toba's, but will try amoos' trick. and is Wilton's color flow a recipe or a package? My RI goes glittery, it's kinda cool. I wonder if my problem is I put them into airtight containers before they are dry. I'm always worried about my cookie drying out.
Thanks
