How To Turn A Yellow Cake Mix Into Chocolate?
Decorating By AKA_cupcakeshoppe Updated 10 Sep 2008 , 10:39pm by Wesha
Only yellow cake mix was available and i need to make chocolate cupcakes, so what's the best way to turn them into chocolate? can i add cocoa? what about dutch cocoa (which I have and I hope I can use, won't it affect how it will rise while baking?)? or can i used cooled melted chocolate?
I welcome any and all suggestions. please let me know how much i would need per box too. TIA!
You can use any or all of them
I'm guessing about 1/4 cup of each would do it.
And if I'm not mistaken, add a pinch of baking soda when using that much choco.
This is the recipe that I use and everyone loves it. Just replace the white mix with whatever you have.
One box of BC White Cake Mix
1 ¼ cups water + 2 tsp instant coffee granules
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
4 eggs, whole
1 small box Jello Chocolate Fudge pudding mix
3 ounces Bakerâs chocolate, melted
1 tsp cocoa powder
½ cup sour cream
½ cup sugar
thanks kimmypooh! do i need to add the pudding? i'm afraid we don't have that available where i'm from.
Since pudding is not available then uae 3 eggs instead of 4. I still don't know for sure if it will be ok but hopefully it won't make a huge difference.
