Hey everybody!! icon_wink.gif I try to be sarcastic...sometimes....it never works. Now DH! KING of sarcasm!!! I keep hoping maybe a little bit of it will rub off but it hasn't happened yet...(crossing fingers.. icon_lol.gif )

My name is Michelle. DH and I will be married 13 years the end of this month. We have 3 girls, Sydney just turned 12, Isabelle is 8, and Anna is 7. We were finished after that but the Lord had other plans and now we have little Otto....our baby boy, who is 10 months old. I am a SAHM. I cut hair until our second daughter was born and have stayed at home since then. (DH just told me that I'm stoked on cake crack! I wouldn't even notice if the house was burning down!!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif I think I would smell it!! icon_lol.gif ) About a year and a half ago DH signed me up for the Wilton courses. I guess I had said too many times, "You know what I would love to do??" I fell in love with it like I've never loved anything that I've ever done! I would love sometime in the next 3 or 4 yrs to open a place around here. icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif Until then, good tipping family and friends... icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Congrats marksmum!!! Will be praying for you!!!

Oh yeah! My kids inherited the sarcasm gene from hubby so I really don't stand a chance!!! Love reading other peoples!!! icon_lol.gif

Recently while discussing hiring someone new my friend and I were jokingly making up questions to ask, such as.. Do you offend easily. If so, this may not be the place for you. Can you take constructive criticism? If not, this most likely will not work out. People are so sensitive these days and some people take things so personally. I didn't see any of your posts that were offensive. I say be yourself and never apologize for that !!!

I am 32. Mother of three. 2 wonderful blue eyed boys 12 and 4 and one beautiful, curly haired doll baby girl 2. I have been married to my husband for 14 years. I currently work at a bakery and am in the process of becoming a partner there. (YAY !! My lifelong dream is to own a bakery !)

Oh my friends I love you all so very much for all the replies.

My in laws hate me and make my husband miserable and treat our 4 children horribly. My sister in laws (3) are awful backstabbing people.
It doesnt matter what I do to be nice. Dropping by and leaving them fresh baked bread, or a cake and NEVER returning a plate empty. Hell there are even days when I was 9 months pregnant and my father in law was out of town that I shoveled thier snow and my husbands great grandparents snow for them. What did I get for my efforts? More hate.

So when I read a few replies in other threads of people who I apparently offended, the world fell in on me. My family is so far. I feel lost now that I have hurt my new friends at CC. I thought that it would be a great bunch of fun, sharing my passionate drive to bake (well that and my sweettooth that is) with other who feel the same way. I hope those who were offended will forgive and forget. I will be a cc devotee forever!

Being A SAHM I am somewhat alone all day and my in laws who are out at the bars etc all the time apparently tell people I hide at home until I come out and bite people or something. Between them and the weather I just dont know if I can take it. I am a big girl and I suppose I should just learn to ignore them and not let it get to me. I just dont know how to do that.
BUt that is my issue. I am so pleased to meet you all and I am so embarrassed i just vented my entire life to you all after hearing how great your lives are. I wish you all the best and I will see you all here on CC.

I do remember when I was very new to CC, I said something that obviously offened a certain individual. I'm sorry to say, I don't even remember who it was! icon_redface.gif It was someone who had been around a long time though. I think I apoligized, but she never did. But I let it go, cause things can be interpereted in so many ways. I try to remember that before I click submit now!

I also remember starting a thread about my SURPRISE! fifth child. I was TRYING to be funny and titled it something like "who wants a baby girl this fall," only cause I already had 3 girls and only one boy. But I offended some poeple who were having trouble getting pregnant. Again, I don't even remember who was offended, sorry. icon_redface.gif

(BTW, my baby just turned 10 months and is very precious to me. And yes, she cuter than any of your kids!)

Anyway, you can't please everybody all the time! That makes for a miserable life!!!!!!!

my favorite offence that i did, was when i was approached by a nigerian type scammer....

oh man! i guess these people have never watched the news....all informed people know most of the scammers are in nigeria, the MEDIA named them nigerian scams....you would have thought i insulted the whole country....perhaps people should read up on things before they get so dang offended.

i guess chris mathews of TV is a terrible offender...since he did a whole 60 minute news special about it...

UGH

i don't care if i offend people anymore....the peeps who are constantly trying to teach adults "a little lesson", are sickening to me....

Jesus said "take the log outta your own eye, before you start lookin for the speck in other peeps eyes"....go argue with him.

I was looking at a baby name book with a pregnant friend of mine and said we should look up Susan (my name) and see what it means. After we did she said "Wait, it must be wrong, it doesn't say sarcastic". (Guess you know why she's my friend). I'm the first to admit that I'm sarcastic sometimes. I kind of enjoy it when I'm able to get in a good zinger. I don't ever say stuff to intentionally hurt people, and hope that I don't, but you can't please all of the people all of the time. I love reading the witty (a.k.a sarcastic) things people say on CC, especially when they are talking about clients/relatives/people in general who have driven them crazy! It's usually stuff that we ALL can relate to at some level. Keep it comin'!!!

Hi I'm Jeannie,

I'm a 3rd generation cake decorator in my family. I used to sit and watch my mother and my grand mother decorate cakes for people and knew one day I would be able to do cakes like theirs. It took me 39 years but I finally found something that made my Grandmother proud of me, Cake decorating.

I married young but don't regret it, it lasted 14 years and gave me 3 children, a daughter 21, two sons 23 and 25. I have one grandson age 2. I believe he gets told no too often cause now he has started answering the phone with a NO and hangs up. Now I am married to a wonderful man who really does have a heart of gold.

well enough about me.

I LOVE CC. Keep the sarcasm commin 'cause I love reading. This post has been fun.

I just had to laugh out loud at that little guy answering the phone like that. My parents are raising my sisters children (LONG SAD STORY THERE)
and when a telemarketer calls or someone from sri lanka claiming to be in Atlanta, Georgia they hand the phone to my neice who just turned 7. She loves to talk on the phone. She doesnt care who or what just talk on the phone. She tells them all about her baby dolls and her pretty hair, perhaps they get an update on her apparrel for the day. It is too funny. We all used to fight to get to one of the other phones so we could listen to what the caller would reply to her. It is just too funny.

I too love sarcasm. Unfortunately, by the time I think of a good come back it's too late. icon_cry.gif I am 38, have been married to the king of sarcasm for 12 years. We have 2 children, 10 year old Hunter who at the moment is obsessed with the weather, global warming, bird flu and the election (I think he is going to need therapy) and 8 year old McKenna who for awhile was seeing my dead grandpa icon_surprised.gif . I have been an optician for 11 years and love baking for family and friends. I absolutely love this site. CC ROCKS!!!

Nice to meet another believer in joy of sarcasm. Recently my 15 yoDD was filling out paperwork for her freshman year in school. One of the questions asked "What is the primary language spoken in your home" She answered, writing in pen, "Sarcasm". Oh yea, that cute apple doesnt fall far from the tree in our house.
I've been married for 18 years, and lived "in sin" with him for 5 years before that (as my grandma said). We have one daughter, 2 cats, 1 dog, and a rabbit. I'm a girl scout leader, a Girl Scout Day Camp Director, a monthly platelet/plasma donor for the Red Cross (EVERYONE - GO NOW AND DONATE A PINT OF BLOOD).
My mom decorated cakes while I was growing up and I always loved licking the beaters after making icing. I think that is why I started making cakes when my daughter was 4 - just to lick the beaters.
Let's see, what else about me - My driver's license tells the truth - my hair is brown, my weight is 140, and I wear glasses - ok, only one of those things is true.

Hey! Glad to have found you all too! I won't have to bite my tongue here! To try to catch up:

1. I decorate full-time;
2. I have a wonderful hubby who is also very sarcastic, and two awesome kids, age 12 and 10. They have inherited the sarcasm gene, so we make many trips to the school to explain this hereditary thing.
3. Never mind the red kitchen...our bedroom is red! icon_cool.gif
4. And in my SPARE time, I am a Girl Guide leader (Hi Darandon!), which also gets alot of my dry wit... icon_lol.gif

I love this thread...keep them coming!

If I had a piece of cake for every time I said or wrote something sarcastic that was misinterpreted I would be...well, I'd be needing a whole lot of milk to wash it down! icon_lol.gif

I figured since I spent all this time reading 6 PAGES of this thread-all the while forgetting to go to the bus stop to pick up my kids icon_redface.gif I might as well add my own!

My name is Shelli, I am a 35 yr old SAHM, and live in Maryland (orig from Ohio) with my totally sarcastic husband of 14 years(dated for 4 yrs prior) and our 2 ridiculously sarcastic sons who will be turning 11 and 7 this fall. As I was complaining about a stiff neck the other day-one of my many aches and pains icon_rolleyes.gif -my 10 yr old turned to my husband and says "just put her out of her misery" Gotto love 'em, we created them! icon_twisted.gif

I am a "newbie" to cc and totally addicted! I'm talking my laundry isn't getting done and my family wants to know when they will get a dinner again addicted! I'm still trying to figure out what IMBC, WASC, TFL and other abreviations stand for. Anyone?

I have been making/eating icon_biggrin.gif cakes since I was a teenager just because "I like it, I like it a lot" icon_lol.gif My mom is a wonderful cook but always hated to bake so if I wanted it, I made it. Once I had my kids I started making their birthday cakes, basically because I wanted to eat some cake icon_lol.gif and not the crap they sell at the store. I've gradually gotten better over the years would love to make a little side job out of it but the couple that I have done for people I have lost money on! My husband is just thrilled with how business savvy I am! icon_redface.gif Luckily he loves me "for better or for psychotic" as I like to say!

Thanks sweettooth for starting this thread! It's nice to know I'm not the only one out there that is addicted to this site... mindlessly reading these threads...thinking nobody reads anything I write... lives far away from my family... likes to decorate with red...think my kids are the cutest (they are!)...and needs psych meds...Oh wait, nobody else said that?? icon_surprised.gif

Glad you could join us and welcome to CC! I had a great laugh reading your post. Sounds so much like me....

IMBC = Italian Meringue Buttercream
WASC = White Almond Sour Cream Cake

TFL = I always understood it to be Thanks For Looking!!!

Our bedroom is red with black paint splatters icon_wink.gif LOL. You should have seen our landlord's face when he seen it! Talk about priceless!

As for me, I love wit and sarcasm. Unfortunately I'm one of the few ppl in my family who use it so half the time someone thinks I'm mad at them icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm 26, female, married to an Army Vet and have 2 adorable children: Maia, who will be 3 next month, and Corban who will be 1 yr old in two weeks icon_cry.gif

I'm a receptionist for a local bank and pass the kids off to dad when I get home so I can bake icon_biggrin.gif I also love other crafty things (painting ceramics, crocheting) and love books and movies. I also play a few online video games (I'm a gamer/baker chick! lol). Hubby loves it- he gets homemade cookies/brownies whenever we play video games together. LOL

Here's my theory on the kids thing: Ever notice when you show a guy your kid's picture, he'll look at it and grunt, "cute kid". But a woman!! She'll make a BIG "Oooooh!" and "Ahhhhhhh!" with a "oh how so CUTE!" thrown in there.

Ya know why? Because since we all know that OUR kid is the cutest kid in the world, we feel sorry for those OTHER moms who are stuck with the plain ordinary kid, so we overcompensate with our compliments so those poor, other moms with regular ordinary kids won't feel bad! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
