Anyone have a Cupcake shop in their town??

It seems like most larger cities now have cupcake shops. Do you have one in your town and where is it located? Urban? Suburban? We do not have one, but I feel there is a market for one, especially Downtown. Just curious what type of locale they seem to do the best in.

We have one shop that I know of. Location is more suburban. Not sure how they do. I think they do alot of business meeting orders.

We don't have one but we are a smaller town. I don't think there is even one in Ottawa (the nation's capital) but maybe government workers are not "cupcake people". I may have just missed it though.

I live in the Jacksonville Florida area and we have one that I know of. It is actually located in a big mall. I'll bet they have to sell a whole lot of cuppies for that rent!!! Oh and that is all they do too!

In Montreal there are a good half dozen, mainly in the hip and happening parts of town. I have heard mixed reviews about the cupcakes. personally I cannot bring myself to pay $4 for one cupcake (most likely from a mix) with neon colored icing, to taste them for myself.

She is in a 'not great' location next to the freeway and getting into the strip center isnt easy. I hope she makes it because they ARE pretty cute

We have a shop called "Cupcake Island" here in Omaha. They have a store in a busy commercial area, about mid-town (not too long ago they would've been said to be in the western part of the city, but Omaha has been growing like crazy). They charge $2.00 for a plainly iced cupcake, which seems a bit high for Omaha.

In Dallas, there is Sprinkles, which is $$$$$$$. I think I paid $3.25 for ONE cupcake! It was yummy, though.
It's very, very urban. I was expecting some cute little bakery where I could take the kids to sit. It was all concrete and metal with brown walls. lol!

Here in Austin we have a few. Hey Cupcake sells from their airstream trailor. There is Be My Cupcake in one of our malls. But it seems as though they sell best located by University of Texas, the South Congress, and Lamar areas. We have a motto here "Keep Austin Weird". That means that we want the locals and visitors to support the local businesses and not make austin so "chain-y". Austin loves cupcakes!!!

There is one in our town. It is in the downtown area. It doesn't do that well but I think that it is because of how it is run and things.
They serve giant cupcakes and drinks but have no where to sit. Plus the cupcakes are dry and to trendy. There isn't any kids cupcakes or anything. Lots of different flavors though.
I never see anyone in there but I think it is becuase of the things I mentioned.
If done right I think it could work.

There is one in the next town over from me in Hudson, Ohio, a suburb. It's called Main Street Cupcakes.

I work at the cupcake shop in my town!
Love at First Bite Bakery
Berkeley, CA

yes, cupcakes are pricy, but oh so good!

we're a college town, so we get a lot of business from students. it's also a popular place for fledgling families on weekends. most of the business comes from large orders though. there's 2-3 weddings most weekends.
