I'm sorry if this has been asked before - if so, please point me to the tutorial or forum but I can't find anything.

I was wondering how you do that open lid on treasure chests and jewelery boxes. I have a treasure chest to do for my daughter's birthday and would really like a tip or two if anyone could help me.

Thanks so much in advance,
Suzanne

you'll only need a small gap otherwise you will need to fill it with more jewels!! the lid will need its own board, whether your making the lid out of cake or stryfoam. i place two bambo skewers pointed side up at the back to pierce the board so it doesn;t slip, then 2 more dowels about 1" taller at the front for the board to rest on. i fill the gaps with sweets, gummy bears, wrapped chocolate bars (for bars of gold), etc.
