I have any customers that love the design of my cakes but they are not to excited on the taste of some of them. What good cake cook books are out there for me to purchase or what are some of your great cake receipes that customers just feel head over heal for. I love what i do but I want the customers to be excited about the look of the cake as well as the taste.
Almost all the recipes in the recipe section are TNT - Tried and True.
There are also a couple of great threads on scratch cakes which have tons of recipes.
There is also the recipe file that can be accessed through fiddlesticks signature. They are cupcake recipes, but you can pan them for cakes and just bake them longer.

thanks I will check there. Can you recommend any good cake books like the cake bible or something
The Cake Bible is probably one of the most definitive books on cake baking that you can buy.
Anything by Nick Malgieri is also good for the beginning baker.

I've also checked out the following books at my local library:
The Art of the Cake
The Essential Baker
Anything by Toba Garrett or Sylvia Weinstock
From there unfortunately it's just trial and error. I have lots of friends in the bldg. where I work. Co-workers are wonderful taste tester and they don't get tired of cake, thank goodness.
Good Luck
