I HATED the Go Daddy website builder.. it was such a PITA to use. I swear.. I was never so angry as I was trying to make their templates do what I wanted them to. I can't say enough good things about Bludomain. Their templates are very reasonable and their hosting fees are as well.
Great job Jeanne!! I loved your original site but this is so beautiful and hip! I think both your sites were very upscale which just goes so well with the name of your business.
Very Cute!
This might be a dumb question...BUT! Is the first pic how you do your tastings? If so, that is absolutely brilliant! When I had the tasting for my wedding cake it was three pieces of someone's left over cake

Oh yuck! Yes.. that is my tasting plate. I have recieved great feedback about it. People like to mix and match cakes and fillings and they have fun with it. I have a little sheet printed out mapping out the different flavors as well so they know what they are tasting.
I like your website and the pictures are very professional...thanks for sharing
I took a web page design class in the local community college and let me tell you it was a headache. I prefer to buy one already done and bludomain offer have reasonable prices....
Template Monster is another place with reasonable flash template sites. http://www.templatemonster.com/ Sometimes their site is a little slow, but the sites are nice and some are even a little cheaper than Bludomain.
very nice! I love the general layout and that it changes colors as you navigate through the site.
Great job!!!!!!!!
Oh! and those cupcakes in the little white cups on the minicakes page look so YUMMY! Looking at cakes or cupcakes should not be done right before lunch
Barbara
LOL.. those were good. They were Samoas cupcakes.. brown sugar cake topped filled with homemade caramel and topped with a thin layer of chocolate ganache then topped with a mound of a topping that is similar to what you put into a german chocolate cake thick with toasted coconut and then drizzeled with more ganache... mmmmmmmm mmmmm!! And yes.. now my salad isn't going to seem as fulfilling..
Thank you all so much for the compliments.. I am glad that you like my new site!
very beautiful and professional looking site.
great job! I absolutely LOVE IT! your cakes are amazing.
Do you know of any free sites I can use. I'm not trying to be cheap, but the cakes that I make have not generated that much business for me, so I cannot invest in a site right now. However, everyone always asks me if I have a web site and I just email them my sample pictures. I would like to take that extra step forward and creat my own.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I used freewebs for a while.. they have a bunch of templates that you can use for free. Your site will have an advertisement banner at the top, but it's not huge or anything.
jkalman,
thanx for the advice. I will look into it.
did i mention that your site is beautiful? =)
Beautiful site all around! Lovely cakes, beautiful photography.
Since you asked, I saw a spelling error on the faq page. "Coast" is misspelled.
Great job! I enjoyed it!
Thank you so much Jen! I hate it when you drop a letter and it's still a real word so the spell check doesn't catch that you were a doofus.. .
your website looks so professional and yet so inviting.... makes me want to go eat cake!!!!!
Jeanne,
Your site looks wonderful! I already have it bookmarked for reference. All the best to you!
I do have a side question, do you make all your cakes and fillings fresh for your samplings, or do you freeze small portions and pull them as you need them?
I make them fresh.. Most of them are flavored SMBC so it's easy. I have strawberry puree and raspberry puree in the freezer in ice cube sized portions at all times as well as lemon curd. Chocolate and mocha are easy to make.. just melt a little chocolate and add some coffee.. I put nutella in some.. homemade caramel I usually have on hand too.. if not it's easy to make up. I try to keep some of everything I need on hand. As for the cake I make up an 8" square of each flavor and cut it into the little pieces and freeze them so I can just pop some out when I need it.
What a great idea! I figured it was somethind along those lines, but didn't think to freeze the purees. Thanks so much for sharing!
I also wanted to let you know that you are easily one of my favorites on this site. I always try to catch your posts and photos (I am not stalking you, I promise) ...just a fan. Anyway, it is so great to see that you are moving up with your new site. It really looks fantastic!
Your website is so inviting, professional and the pictures of the cakes are really wonderful. Great job
the site looks great i love it did you do it yourself or did you have a person do it for you?
Thank you! It is a template site.. I customized the layout and took all of my pictures.
