When I baked the cupcakes they came out flat and are spread out. The tops around the edge are breaking off some and I was wondering if I just leave them like that OR do I trim them off? If I trim them, they will be cakey on the sides.

oh i can relate! I did this the other day

I trimmed the cake from the top and the sides using a bread knife. It will be a little crumbly so i suggest you putit in the fridge for a while. then i crumbcoated the tops and then back to the fridge and then after about an hour (only cause I was doing something else) I took them out and frosted them

I even used the cake scraps and made cake balls and used them to top the cupcakes. they were awesome

I tried to add a photo and it said it didn't accept jpg. What's up with that?

So you just used a bread knife? I will be using the 1M tip or something similiar to swirl icing on the top. So the edging won't show??????

let me try explaining it. i hope i make sense i'm not good at explaining. LOL

first click on post reply so you can get more advanced buttons and stuff. then click on Img it's on the same line as B i u, etc. in the Message Body part.

then this will appear on the reply box

then go to the picture you want to post. What I do is right click on it and in the options there's copy image address. You can also copy the image url address (Hint: it usually ends with .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif) copy that. and then go back to the reply box here, press ctrl+v or paste and then click on the Img button again. This will "close" the image tag. when you hit submit, your picture will be shown

This only works if you have uploaded your picture to an online album like photobucket or something like that.

Great cupcakes! When my cupcakes spread or I overfill them I use a pair of scissors to trim the edges. It sort of seal the cut and is a lot less crumbly! I think you will see what I mean if you try it.
